terrible enemy animations. And what is the deal with all these repeated "elites". Every time I enter a new level I just wonder who will be repeated 5 times again now. I actually get jumpscared when actually something new approaches since it is really unexpected at this point. Also some of the soundtracks are just terrible and the menu is a joke. The weapons are fun to use and have cool moves. Too bad that there is nothing fun to fight against with them.

If you want a more convoluted, difficult, anime as heck, steep learning curve, masochistic souls-like game with optional full 2player co-op functionality, this is the game for you. Be warned, constant stance-dancing combat, needing a forum or two to understand all the numbers in your build, grindy late-game item progression, and the constant risk of being 1-2 shot on the highest 2 difficulties are things you'll have to endure. Otherwise, I love everything about this game and look forward to 100% the sequel too. If you wanna feel anime don't main axe though, it's the least anime and flashy weapon, it feels like the devs hate it or wanted to force a greataxe/greathammer to be a skillful ninja weapon. All my ningen hate axe, when in doubt, just spam high-stance strong attack, works every time. I use axe everyday.

With all of the praise I've heard of this game I though I'd have so much fun playing it. One of the few big problems I have with this game is the stamina. I get the stamina system and I think the ki burst is really cool. But stamina usage is so high that when you try to mix dodging and/or blocking with attacking you are pretty much always out of stamina. I know I could just stand back and wait but that's so boring to go, "hey i did two or three attacks now I have to roll away and regen stamina." This part of the combat system makes the game feel so slow and combat kind or boring for me. I also don't like the boss phases where they go into the spirit world or whatever. I don't like this because one of the only ways to get good damage on a boss is when you get to take a riposte after their stamina bar goes down and a second stamina bar goes down to zero. When a boss goes into the spirit realm it replenishes both its stamina and its second stamina bar it also does this when it comes out of the spirit realm. So at any time the boss can just choose to take away your progress and prevent you from getting any good damage. Another thing I have a problem with is when a bosses first stamina …
