✦ AI summary

Despair is a survival horror game with an intriguing premise about investigating a subway disaster, but players overwhelmingly report serious technical problems including glitches, clipping through level geometry, broken mechanics like the flashlight system, and key binding issues that make it difficult to play. While some appreciate the atmosphere and story concept, the majority of reviewers found the experience marred by bugs and lack of genuine scares, with many strongly advising against purchasing the game.

It's a good game that I enjoyed but then after a while I didn't because of the erronous gameplay mechanics

Despair is what you will feel after playing this game. Lots of glitches, barely any scares, and I had to replay the game two times because the flashlight system broke the first time while I ended up clipping out of bounds the second time. If you want a horror game with an interesting story about a main character investigating what happened to a subway and its passengers, this isn't it.

I would just like to save everyone some time with their life and don't buy this game. I completed this game and felt like my whole life was a failure, wouldnt wish this upon my worst enemy, and I would rather severely injure then to complete this game a second time, 0/10 wouldnt recomend

Played for 20 minutes on Steam Deck as part of a project to skim across my backlog. Had to manually bind keys like Shift and B. This is a very rudimentary Unity prototype with, as far as I played, no interesting ideas. Will not finish.
