Set years after the original, the player finds himself in a Stilwater both familiar and strange and challenged with bringing the Saints back as the rightful kings of Stilwater and bringing vengeance to those who wronged him.

- Cribs and even gangs all have an amazing degree of detailed customization options. - Multiplayer - Co-op full story campaign has seamless integration (for example one player drives while the other shoots).
- Competitive MP pushes the boundaries of immersion in a living Stillwater environment fully populated with police, innocent bystanders and rival gangs. - Killer Combat and Awesome Vehicles - Planes, helicopters, motorcycles,boats and cars can be piloted and used as weapons. Players praise Saints Row 2 as a fantastic and engaging game in the series, with some calling it the best entry once the Juiced patch is applied, but the PC port is severely hampered by frequent crashes and poor audio quality that makes it difficult to play without the essential patch fix. The story and gameplay are beloved, though the crashing issues and technical problems are a significant barrier to enjoyment for many players.

Buyer beware notes: - you will most likely need to install a community mod (e.g. Juiced) to even play the game without crashing - the online no longer works and you will need to set up virtual LAN software to play LAN with friends Good: - some of the gameplay is immense fun, and mopping up completion % can be engrossing - banger mid-late 00's soundtrack - generally the game is enjoyable for it's mid-late 00's aesthetic - the cutscenes are surprisingly well done, both with the attention to animation, sound, and editing; and with respect to being dramatic (which is in contrast to how silly the main gameplay is) Not good: - some of the gameplay is just frustrating and unfair, and requires luck or bending the rules to win. Some elements such as lack of checkpoints or being sent to distant spawn points on re-trying are just annoying. - the city can feel kinda empty. The NPCs don't do a heck of a lot and at times NPC citizens and vehicles are very sparse. I personally don't mind but I do see some people find this a big deal.
