Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion

An extremely lazy, buggy and laggy PC port. Attempting to change the resolution crashes the game. All the controls and tutorials use Xbox button prompts - the keyboard binds are never provided, you just have to figure it out. Your character awkwardly follows where you click/hold your mouse in the world, instead of working like a normal third person game where you can control the camera. The gameplay uses fairly average brawler mechanics with fart jokes riddled in. Maybe it can be fun, but the game actively inhibits you from enjoying it with all its issues.

Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion is an unusual hack-and-slash adventure that builds its entire identity around crude comedy, cartoon fantasy, and cooperative action. Developed by Casual Brothers Ltd. and published by Casual Brothers, the game was released on May 15, 2014. Its concept immediately separates it from conventional fantasy adventures because the orcs are not portrayed as invading monsters. Instead, they are the victims of aggressive human expansion and environmental pollution. The humans have contaminated their homeland, and a group of trained orc warriors decides to fight back using weapons, physical strength, and some particularly unpleasant biological abilities. The environmental premise gives the otherwise ridiculous story a surprisingly coherent foundation. Human activity has damaged the natural world, turning the orcs into unlikely defenders of their territory. Rather than treating this theme seriously, the game transforms ecological retaliation into slapstick comedy. Flatulence becomes both a running joke and an actual weapon. It is an intentionally immature approach, but the game commits completely to the idea instead of using toilet humor as an occasional gimmic…

Despite being a low-budget beat 'em up, I was at least expecting this to be a little fun. However, from the moment we "started" in that it took multiple tries for us to even load the game so all four people could play - and my frustration was already high - the actual game is no less frustrating. It's concept is taken from far better material and the effect is equal parts tedious and lame. The design is terrible, the mechanics are bad and the few levels we managed to play were bland. Thrown in a escort mission, items you can buy and then immediately lose and leveling system that is largely extraneous - nothing in this game left me with a good taste in my mouth. In fact, I would say this is probably the worst Steam game I have come across and though I thought the concept of fighting as an Orc (who farts for power!) would be fun ala Castle Crashers or other stylistic-type beat em ups - this is a lazy, poorly designed and mostly broken game that I highly recommend skipping. Now pardon me while I hide this so it will no longer taint my Steam library.

I didn't expect anything and yet I was still disappointed. I don't know why, how, or when I got this game, but I'd rather hang naked upside down from a flagpole than ever see the game again.
