About Quest of Dungeons

✦ AI summary

Delve into procedurally generated dungeons as a Warrior, Wizard, Assassin, or Shaman to defeat the Dark Lord and reclaim stolen light in this turn-based crawler. Every playthrough is different thanks to randomized enemies and loot, with permadeath stakes and classic 16-bit visuals keeping the old-school challenge alive.

Quest of Dungeons is a turn based dungeon crawler game featuring a good old 16-bit retro artistic look.

Classic roguelike is classic! And a great game to play on the go.

Quest of Dungeons is a game that understands something very important about games: sometimes the most memorable journeys are the ones where you enter a place with absolutely no idea what you are going to find, and somehow emerge with the feeling that something meaningful has happened. There is a simplicity to the experience that is quite difficult to describe, because simplicity itself is often much more complicated than it appears. From the moment you begin, the game creates a particular atmosphere. You are there. The world is there. There are things happening around you. You make decisions, observe the consequences, and continue moving forward. It is a very straightforward philosophy, but one that becomes increasingly compelling as you spend time with it. What I particularly appreciate is the sense of progression. Not merely the obvious kind of progression, but the more subtle feeling that you are gradually becoming part of the experience itself. Every moment contributes to the journey, and every journey contributes to the larger understanding of what the game is trying to achieve. There is also a wonderful balance between familiarity and individuality. Quest of Dungeons feel…

It's as deep as a puddle. I only recommend it for someone who needs a baby-tier introduction to traditional roguelikes.

I don't usually write bad reviews, but this time I just had to. This game looks good, and with a few improvements it could be so much better But in its current state, it's a complete waste of time. I don't care that it's cheap, because there are so many amazing free roguelike games So this game has no right to exist Let's start with the good, (because there is so little of it) 1. This game looks good I personally prefer ASCII, but the graphics are cute, the animations are simple Not as annoying as other roguelikes that do too much animation Or graphics that are too complicated Which interferes with playing 2. The game feels very snappy Very easy to start and play, no long character building (which I don't like) The animations are fast, so you can run from room to room in the dungeons And that's it... Now let's talk about everything that's bad 1. This game is *very* easy It took me 2 tries to beat it. And that's it. In Brogue I needed more than 300 attempts 2. The enemies There is no sophistication in the enemies... Some may be able to do ranged attacks... but it's really nothing interesting There is one enemy that steals things from you, but he doesn't really run away so you …

Nice little rogue like dungeon crawler. The graphics and sound design are great. Whether you get a decent run is basically in the lap of the RNG gods as the maps randomly generate so chance to et a boss room somewhere really awkward. That aside it's easy to go again to get revenge
