Lamplight City

You know those games that say that every decision you make will have affect on your gameplay but it forgets those decisions 5 seconds later? Well this is one of those games that actually delivers on that promise but it wasn't advertised as such. So this is more a fair warning to save early and often, you get a lot of slots for saving so you can go back if you need to. It's fun to feel like you really have to dig for clues and be careful about how you investigate each case.

Pretty good little point and click game set in a very cool setting. Very nice animation too. Just needed a little more interaction, I think to make it truly stand out.

I have played this game almost all the way through twice. It is a long game, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. The hearing the voice of your dead partner thing is actually a pretty good angle. I enjoyed Lamplight city, it is very well polished for an indie game. Gonzalez has come a long way since the Ben Jordan: Paranormal investigator games. This game will pretty much run on any system too.

Undiagetic, modern characterisations and plot. Does not remotely feel like a coherent or interesting world or story. I can only imagine the positive reviewers are being very forgiving or superficial. The art is nice though.

So, in this game the main character have a sidekick, which keeps commenting on everything he is doing. For example, you look at the flower pot and give a description - he would then crack a lame joke or say something boring. Each and every time to the point of becoming very annoying after first five minutes of gameplay. And you literally need to look at objects in the world to achieve things. Second, this game is a comedy by itself. Do not expect serious investigations, but more of a "Monkey Island" type of experience, but with mediocre writing. Both of these thigs do not work for me. Maybe I will return to this game later, but very unlikely. Kind of sorry I bought it and tried immediately to refund it. Sadge.

A neat little detective game with nostalgia of old point and click games. I enjoy that the logic puzzles aren't too obtuse or out of place compared to old games. I enjoyed this on my Steam Deck doing about 1 case per night before bed and it was a great way to wind down from a busy day.
