✦ AI summary

Ib is a classic psychological horror game that players praise for its atmospheric art gallery setting, compelling story with multiple branching endings, and nostalgic charm that has captivated players since the original RPG Maker era. The remake improves on the original with enhanced visuals, music, and puzzles while maintaining the game's heart, and players particularly appreciate the gallery feature to review discovered artwork. Most reviewers consider it a must-play for horror and indie game fans, with the game's shorter length working in its favor by avoiding wasted moments.

Ib is a classic psychological horror from the RPG Maker era! A heavy emphasis on story with some... Mild jumpscare-y moments, the many branching paths and endings can pull on your heart strings all the way through!

As someone who remembers fondly playing the original and watching Markiplier (and I think PewdiePie) play the original back in 2012, and being a lover of art galleries and contemporary art, I have to say this remake absolutely does it a well deserved justice. One of the things that I love about this remake, is in addition to the improved visuals, music, and puzzles, there is now a mode where you can visit the gallery and view all of the artwork you discovered on your journey, which of course is one of the best parts of this game. I haven't gotten to experience a second playthrough just yet, but the fact that there is already so much replayability has me eager to dive back in and figure out what I missed last time. And its a much shorter game than I remember, but not TOO short. My first run was finished in maybe 2-3 hours and the puzzles were challenging, but not overall hard. If you like horror, 2d puzzle solving and art galleries, then this game is for you! :)

One of the best RPG Horror games I've loved since I was a kid. It's a unique game amongst the rest in it's genre. Ib's foreboding atmosphere mixed with the great characters and almost liminal, eldritch art gallery setting really leaves a long lasting impression and I've yet to see anything quite like it since. The story is straightforward, yet there's not a moment where your time is wasted when progressing its story through puzzles or dialogue. Every area in this game is oozing with charm that enhances it's horror. After finally playing it for myself (even though I grew up seeing the original) the remaster retains its original appeal very well. I have yet to reach more than two endings, but it's certainly a must play if you're into these kinds of games!
