How do you find the missing child?

By SpyingYou have the perfect view from your window, take that opportunity to spy on your neighbour’s daily activities to see if they’re hiding anything suspicious.By Breaking and EnteringYou see something that piques your curiosity, you can’t help yourself. Break into areas you have no business being, pick locks that your neighbours think will protect their secrets, maybe take an item or two, for evidence of course…By making your own deductions in classic detective styleWe’re not holding your hands here. You’re the detective, you have the evidence, now how does it connect? We’ll leave that to you to figure out
A young girl’s life is at risk. Wouldn’t you do anything you could to return her to her family?

If you are looking for a game where you suspect everyone and feel like everyone is watching you, this is the one for you. Dahlia View is a detective narrative adventure game set in the 1950s, centered on a missing child in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. As a retired detective, Mr. Conway felt obliged to help find the little girl, even while the police were working on the case. His daughter Catherine warned him and begged him multiple times to leave it to the police, whom she was working with, but being stubborn and even confined in his wheelchair, Conway didn't stop. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3738969757 The gameplay has multiple sections. First, you need a lead, and of course, Conway can't walk around, so he'd use his camera to snoop on his neighbors by zooming in and taking photos of what they are doing. After that, he'd wheel himself down to have a chat with them or, well, break into their houses to look around. The questioning is fun. You have to listen carefully and use keywords that'd help you with your investigation board. Take photos of everything you think might be evidence against them. Concil your journal all the time to know what …

It is a very intriguing adventure game that focuses on you spying on your neighbours. Have you ever wanted to monitor what your neighbours are doing but were too weirded out to actually do it? Well this game's for you! Well, not really, as there's a sizeable exploration part of the game as well, but it's fun that snooping is such a big part of the game. The setting of post-ww2 England is interesting to explore and seeing all the new stuff like electricity and plastics being incorporated into common housing is pretty cool. I looked through some other reviews and was surprised to see others praise the game's voiceover a lot, when for me it was kinda the lowest part of the game. The main hero especially constantly mumbles and whispers his lines, and I wouldn't have an idea about half of the things he said if I didn't have subtitles on. The volume levels go from whisper quiet to loud talking, so that doesn't help things either. I also didn't enjoy how slow every conversation was. I get what they were trying to go for here, "natural conversation", but they really overcorrected in the slowness department. Also, it's a minor part of the game, but I really enjoyed how lockpicking min…

There isn't much of decision making to do, it's more of a linear game. But there is stuff that's missable. One thing I have to mention is the lockpicking mechanic: It's one of the best I've ever seen in a game. At least on keyboard it feels very immersive when you have to struggle with your hand to keep the keys pressed. I liked The Occupation more, but this is still a good game.

- The worst thing about this game is its UI, which is probably coming from its console first interface, but they’ve managed to make it a real torture on PC - Imagine you need to move your mouse and with your right hand simultaneously press X, T and J. Try it with your left hand only, feeling comfortable? :) - UI does not allow you to skip any cutscenes. - UI pauses the game when you alt+tab, so you cannot even look at other tabs in your PC, YOU HAVE TO actively watch cutscene. - UI makes you watch intro cutscenes (logos, warnings, save explanations) each and every time you start the game - You cannot skip through the dialog if you already read the subtitles. - The concept is good - trying to recreate one of the best Hitchcock masterpieces, with a different story. But the only good thing about the story is the perp and their motive, the rest is just pure silliness. - Imagine you are in a chair and you are trying to pursue the perp all the while asking another person to not to call the police. Or keep suspecting someone who has been helping you all the time. - Continuity is a drag as well, you will see tons of SLOOOOOOOW camera movements and participate in so many unnecessary conve…

I must say after recently just finished the game, I was really into it, but I feel the ending left so much unsaid, I wont spoil anything here but it feels like alot didt tie the knot so to speak, other than that it was a nice little detective game with an interesting art style with interesting characters

Puzzles - fab, Investigations - fab, everything else - a real frustration. The mechanics of the game are done well and the mobility aspect although it takes some getting used to is unique although unsure why you cannot control the camera to look around more. The ending was not worth the 11 hours of gameplay that I put in; very bland and a bit flat in my opinion.
