The Lost Crown

Ignore the dated graphics and the stiffness. This game has a heart that most triple-A horror games are missing. It’s creepy, cozy, and completely unique. I know it’s not perfect, but I love everything about it. A great point and click game

Reviewing games I played a long time ago: This is probably one of the best point n click games from the genre revival during the 2010's. Nice art style, good story and outstanding atmosphere. The town is based on a real location and has tons of spooky charm. Plays nicely on the Deck

A truly excellent mystery adventure game with a chilling atmosphere and so much charm. Amazing FMV, really well filmed, oozing dread and creepy mystery. Ghost hunting folk-horror in a beautiful idyllic small English village, the place feels so real and unknowable at the same time. The characters are excellent, the voice acting a little goofy, and the animation a little clunky, but that only adds to the eerie and charming feel of the game. The creeping weirdness gets in your bones, and any silliness you may be put off by does not detract from the incredibly well crafted story and atmosphere. It's one of those games where you will be searching for the next thing to progress the plot in some places, but I found most of it to be logical and the puzzles and progression can be solved with exploration and patience. Also when you have found that specific trigger a little jingle will play so you know you are making progress. I needed a walkthrough for some parts, but mostly I was happy to fumble about on my own soaking up the gorgeous visuals and getting to know the local area and inhabitants. Slow-paced, clunky, old-fashioned 3D point-and-click with ENORMOUS soul and character. Puts modern games to shame with the amount of passion and attention to detail put in by its creator. Easily, one of the best adventure games out there, at least in the "folk horror" genre. You'll get: ✔ A complex ghost and murder mystery that keeps you intrigued throughout; ✔ A ton of moody locations to explore, crafted from real landscape and village/town photography; ✔ Generous amounts of English, Celtic and Anglo-Saxon folklore; ✔ Art and literature gems mixed in the mystery, carefully cherry-picked to fit the immense atmosphere; ✔ Serious Wicker Man (1973) vibes; ✔ Droney, immersive sound design that is the driving force of the gameplay; ✔ Copious amounts of melancholy and existential dread. For modern/casual players, the clunky controls, (somewhat) outdated art style and hard puzzles may be hard to swallow, but, as it progresses, the game can really stand out as a truly unique, mystical experience. A dusty VHS tape you found forgotten in the attic.

The English version of the game is glitched, making it impossible to earn two achievements. Also, the game does not support borderless fullscreen.
