The game is set in 1364 in Carcassonne, where Father Nicolas Eymerich, a sotic man famous as an inquisitor and cares for nothing but the 'will of God', was called to investigate a strange case in one of the nearby villages. Upon discussing the case, he realized his fellow Inquisitor, Father Jacinto, had disappeared as he went to investigate the village before him. I've never played a mean, remorseless, and cold-hearted character. He is quite unique in his own way, but he had me pause the game and eye the screen on multiple occasions at his mean actions. A Very specific ''Point & Click'' game with a strong religious context. If you are interested in ''occult'' thematic then it will be an excellent game for you. Dominating grey/depressive colours,environment, atmospheric soundtrack , and disturbing felling of fear... Are you ready to face what you are never confronted ever before?

Surprisingly I enjoyed playing Nicolas Eymerich - The Inquisitor - Book 1 : The Plague, albeit its shortcomings. What I liked: - The unhinged protagonist - The story - The interactions between characters and enviroment - It still runs great in 2026 - The first 90% of the game that plays out in the monestary. What I didn't like: - The camera perspective in many locations. The camera pans around when you walk and many points of interest are hard to see or can only be seen from a specific angle in a location. - The miryriad of so called easter eggs that pull you out of the game and its worldbuilding. - Puzzles that have seemingly nothing to do with the game or your mission. - Achievements that are easy to miss, hard to aquire or absolutely nonsensical to even try to get them. - The last 10% the game plays out in the plague village and are literally a fever dream. Also this game ends on a cliffhanger and the story is continued in Nicolas Eymerich The Inquisitor Book II : The Village. My rating 6,5/10, recommended for avid adventure players.

the main character is very direct in their way of speaking, makes a very interesting contrast to most other protagonists, rude but does get the job done i suppose which does at least make it interesting to hear what he has to say about anything this game doesn't take itself too seriously, particularly with the metal track that plays most of the time probably because they didn't really have a whole lot to work with in this regard the game also tries to pivot more towards horror toward the end the game works pretty well but can break if alt tabbing a few times, though thankfully the game auto saves on each screen, along with allowing you to save manually you are able to skip a few activities by accident if you choose to do things in a certain way, making achievements strangely difficult to get, and aside from them just being kind of obscure, and at least 2 appear to be bugged it's an alright point and click game if you're looking of something with this style, it was interesting enough and despite the reception, and despite there being nothing to substantial in this game they did manage to make a sequel to this game

What a game! I'm so glad I found this. Its such a rare treat to have a character with has no remorse in a point and click. The righteousness is kinda full on but in a good way, character kinda felt like I was playing Steven Seagal as an inquisitor . Loved it all the way through! Cant wait to play part two.
