What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the ambitious concept of Elite vs. Freedom—a faction-based third-person shooter with globe-spanning missions and ideological conflict—but overwhelmingly criticize the execution, describing gameplay as poor and the overall quality as unfinished or alpha-stage. The gap between the promising premise and promotional materials versus the actual gameplay experience is a major source of frustration, with players feeling misled despite appreciating the game's core ideas.
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…5 found this helpful

Elite vs. Freedom is a game built on an ambitious premise: a near-future world divided between a powerful authoritarian regime known as the Elite and a scrappy insurgent movement called Freedom. It positions itself as a fast-paced third-person shooter where players can choose which side of the conflict to fight for, moving through a globe-spanning series of missions set in cities like Dubai, Tokyo, Rio, and Monaco. On the surface, it promises big ideas — ideological warfare, large-scale conflict, and a mix of stealth, sabotage, rescue operations, and all-out combat. It’s the kind of setup that lends itself easily to action-movie spectacle, and the game clearly reaches toward that scale, even if the execution often reveals the limitations of its indie origins. The single-player structure takes players through fourteen missions, each prefaced by motion-comic cutscenes meant to establish context and keep the story moving. These illustrated panels give the campaign a graphic-novel feel, and while the narrative itself remains thin, the art style helps maintain momentum between levels. Missions range from infiltration to extraction, from defending objectives to eliminating high-value ta…
Don't bother buying this thing, the screenshots and advertisement make this game look and feel way better then it actually is, i should have played it right after i bought it instead of waiting months for it, i'll try to get me a refund for this . . . And no, being an indie game from 2016 is not an excuse for how bad this is. The concept of it is interesting, and its what got my attention, but the gameplay is just abysmal.
