About Dragon Bros

Robots are everywhere! They've conquered the whole planet, destroyed the place you used to call home and kidnapped your dragon-mom. That's not right, bros! Definitively not right. The only cure for this terrible mess is to exterminate those cranky machines with bullets and big explosions! Play as a young dragon in this 2D retro run & gun adventure, in co-op or solo. Armed with shotguns and laser cannons, free your mom from the evil Mechaliches!

Story

Four teenage dragons go on an adventure to save their kidnapped mom. The culprits? The mechaliches! They are an evil robotic society who survived the collapse of a technologically advanced alien civilization. On their way, our dragons meet various mega bosses and learn more about their enemies goals.

Features

  • A smooth and fresh interpretation of classic Run and Gun games,
  • Solo or local co-op up to 2 players,
  • Tons of enemies to blow up,
  • Gorgeous pixel art,
  • Lots of weapons with alternatives firing modes,
  • Punchy soundtrack with old school tones,
  • Far too many explosions,
  • Higher difficulty modes for an extra challenge,
  • Full controller support,
  • 2 players on one keyboard support,
  • Hyper responsive controls and non stop action,
  • Future updates and free new levels already planned.

Gameplay

SHOOT SHOOT - DIE - SECRET PASSAGE - ROLL - OH NO IT'S A TRAP!

There are a dozen kind of enemies. Some are just shooting at you, other lob at you, some fly around and drop bombs, some have a shield in front of them, some fly and shoot, some are slow but very resistant, some are sniping you, some punch you etc.

Use the map to travel freely through already completed levels and improve your previous high score.

You can collect power ups along the track (machine gun, super laser, naval cannon, heath pack, etc.). Every act of destruction rewards you with scraps (score). Use them to unleash your weapon super powers for a few seconds: bigger bullets, bouncy projectiles, increased range, higher damage, larger splash area, secondary effects, etc!

Nice and compelling old style run&gun. It does exactly what it promises: a progression through levels full of robots to blast with a variety of increasingly powerful weapons. PROs: Weapons and explosions feedback Music tunes Tiny "fat" dragons design Robots design (some of them are fun to observe as they look really dumb) CONs: It can be repetitive, the longer your game session is the more you're gonna notice it

Cool dragon game! The main campaign on base difficulty is good, but some notes that are important below: - I haven't 100%'d the game yet (although I have beaten all levels on regular difficulty), so keep that in mind (I've done main levels Worlds 1 and 2 on max difficulty and all bosses on max difficulty but none of the levels in World 3 or 4). But I feel I've got enough out of the game even at this point to where even what I've done is worth it (just note that trying to max difficulty everything will be really difficult so don't do it if it lessens enjoyment!) - Keyboard controls are kinda awkward, even for someone who uses arrows as a regular control option (rebinding would be really good) - This might just be a me issue or me not understanding stuff, but in the bouncing ball levels, sometimes the shot doesn't go all the way up to the top and the screen and I can't work out when it does or doesn't - Boss 3 is BRUTAL in the most difficult mode because I couldn't see a telegraph to the end of the movement pattern so watch out for that (the attacks are decently telegraphed though as well as the start of movement most times), but I do tend to struggle on those types of bosses the mos…

Sucks that this game has been abandoned for 7 years and is still barely noticed these days. Despite its crowdfunding failure and unoptimized controls, the gameplay was geniuely amazing. Not to mention that the soundtrack slaps so hard. The highest difficulty was frustrating most of the time, because some parts didn't feel balanced at all, but I might understand the point of it being that painfully difficult lol I reccomend playing this game with a controller, as you may also need to download and use an input mapper, like DS4Windows. Only if the developers could remake this game, which would be very interesting seeing it being expanded... And of course, I'm a fan of playing as dragons as usual.

Why does any game ever insist on forcing you to not have the default common wasd layout for player one? F2 does nothing for some reason at the keybind screen. I assume that's supposed to be a swap button for the 2 columns. Oh well, some how I played 8 hours a few years ago. Now that I'm clearing the backlog & seeing this game fresh, how beautiful it looks & how amazing the music is, yet it's done for & I can't recommend it because I'm not left handed & can not play using the arrows with my right hand.

This is a really great old-school run-and-gun platformer with adorable dragons wielding various sci-fi firearms. It's immense fun to play, it looks great, the controls are tight. The best thing about it, though? The music! The soundtrack is absolutely incredible!
