✦ AI summary

Zombie Riot is a wave-based VR zombie shooter that players praise for its fun, arcade-style action and satisfying melee combat, with a visually polished aesthetic. However, the game is limited by its stationary, stage-based progression without free movement, some missing sound effects, and occasional weapon animation quirks like the pump-action shotgun feeling awkward. Players generally recommend it to VR arcade enthusiasts who enjoy focused, contained combat challenges rather than expansive exploration.

Zombie Riot is a virtual reality action shooter developed and published by PlaySide VR that focuses on fast-paced, wave-based zombie combat designed specifically for motion-controlled play. Built from the ground up for VR rather than adapted from a traditional flat-screen experience, the game emphasizes physical interaction, encouraging players to reach, grab, swing, aim, and fire with their own hands. This tactile approach to combat forms the foundation of the experience, transforming what might otherwise be a standard zombie shooter into a more immersive and kinetic survival challenge. The gameplay centers on surviving waves of undead attackers across a series of contained environments. Players are equipped with a diverse arsenal that ranges from conventional firearms such as pistols and rifles to more unconventional or improvised tools like melee weapons and novelty items. The variety in weapon choice encourages experimentation, especially in VR where the physical act of wielding different weapons creates a distinct sensation for each. Dual-wielding pistols, carefully lining up sniper shots, or frantically swinging a melee weapon at encroaching enemies all feel mechanically dif…

Fun game. There are some minor issues but it's fine. Things that I don't like: - Player can't move. Only shoot from a fixed position - Using pump action shotgun is weird. - Lack of some sound effects

This is obvious a product from "Pre- Half Life Alyx" Yes, I am using Half LIfe Alyx as a milestone in term of evolution for VR game. Since Half Life Alyx is what's truly revolutionize and set a standard for the VR game afterward. Its easy to recognize the game to be "Pre-Half Life ALyx" very easily. - Less gameplay variation - Less "open" - Static objects. These are what you will have from Zombie Riot, However, By no mean this is a bad game. On the contray, This is quite somewhat enjoyable experience. - You will be move from stage by stage, Ofcourse you won't be able to free roam or moving around, Mostly likely you will be fixed in one place at a time. - You will start with by default, Two pistol. Then sprinkling with other things like A primary weapons, A melee and a hand grenade. Each stage will given you a different weapons. - There are also an airdrop where some different power up or item being dropped toward you. You have to shoot it to use it. Up on my playthrough, These power up would be the X2 Ammo, or different weapon. - Speaking of ammo, This game doesn't let you doing manual reload, You simply just need to click the analogue button for auto reload. Overall its p…
