For a native Chinese made galgame, Old Watch marks the milestone of its kind. Regarding this, the game standout among Chinese made galgames. [strike]Visually stunning.[/strike] But for reason I don't know, only one CG was unlocked in gallery after a complete walk-through. [*][b]Complicated Plot.[/b] It might not be a good thing, though. Like Steins;Gate, Old Watch is all about time, etc. However, Old Watch is shorter and involved fewer central chracters. Though not stupid, the plot is by no means straight forward and attracting, just moderate. [/list] [h1]CONs[/h1] [list] [*][b]Too Many Professional Terms.[/b] This is not a good thing for a game. It's not a sci-fi novel, really. Though I am myself a bio-dog who also deals with CS things, reading those 'professional' things proved tedious. The author may try to make time travel reasonable, but providing much 'science' thing won't do the trick. The readers do NOT care about details really, they do care that those abnormal phenomenon come in not that abruptly. One…

Old Watch is a story-focused visual novel developed and published by 灰烬天国 that builds its entire experience around a mysterious artifact capable of altering the past. Very attractive story, even though one story line seems way too brief. Overall had a great time and looking forward to a follow-up game to continue the story.

The plot is so attractive and moving. The art (I refer to the sprite particularly) is good enough, but to be frank I don't like that kind of style. As for the program, I can't read the text by mouse scrolling down. The "Enter" key on the the number pad doesn't work, either. Besides, when the choices occur, the "menu" disappears so that I can't save it. (Tip: You can press the "S" key instead to save.) The music used in the common route may be so-so in my opinion. However, I like the music used in He Lin route because it fit the atmosphere well. I think you can have a try of this visual novel for its wonderful plot.
