Fish Fillets 2

A friend of mine gifted this game to me last Christmas and challenged me to beat 20 levels on-stream. Took me about 3 hours and I had a great time! The way that this puzzle game works is truly intriguing and quite unique. I am no enthusiast when it comes to puzzle games in general, however every once in a while they do help and this one managed to actually make me use my brain quite a bit. It gets more difficult and unique the deeper and deeper you get into it and I highly recommend it! Might finish it someday :3

Controls are a bit iffy, but overall an amazing little puzzle game. Puzzles are challenging but fun. Most puzzles require quite some intricate planning to solve in the end, but you can easily go around, try out things and save partial solutions to work on later / try a different route. Also, it has good difficulty scaling where you can solve harder versions of the puzzle each level by finding solutions that reach multiple objectives - so you can still follow the main story and continue to the next puzzle when solving the easiest (most often still challenging) version and then later come back and solve the harder version. Definitely worth the price if you like challenging puzzles.

I like to judge a game on 5 different aspects from 0 to 10, with 10 being "no flaws" If it scores an 11 on an aspect, it means it goes beyond having no flaws, and is a masterpiece in that aspect. So here's my review of Fish Fillets 2 Gameplay: 9/10 Most of the puzzles are really good. The only flaw is the same Baba is You has, which is levels with too many moving parts. Better puzzles usually are difficult without being complex. Visual Identity: 11/10 The game nails its art style perfectly. The rough in the edges old style matches the game's humor. You know it's Fish Fillets 2 when you see it. Sound and Music: 10/10 The sound effects and music do their job. Replayability: 10/10 You can't really ask for more replayability for a puzzle game. The game tracks your solution with least moves. It has support for custom levels. It also offers bonus content if you get starfish. Story: 10/10 The addition of story in a puzzle game is not very common. But, somehow, Fish Fillets 2 nails it without any flaws. If the ending is a masterpiece, I'll change this score to an 11.
