context: probably 20 hours of actual gameplay, ~500 puzzles solved, ~70 environmental puzzles found, didn't complete any obelisks because they were a little too esoteric for me to figure out naturally puzzles. lots and lots of puzzles. easy puzzles that teach the rules. hard puzzles that test your knowledge of the rules. puzzles that combine various rules. puzzles that throw a wrench in your usual approach and force you to problem solve and think on your feet. big island. feels kinda like myst. questionable audio logs and videos - doesn't matter, puzzles are good, exploration is rewarding, enviroment is clearly hand crafted with immense precision and detail. can't recommend this enough. price point is kinda high, personally wouldn't buy without a discount.

This is honestly one of the best puzzle games I've ever played. I bought it on sale but it is honestly worth its full value. I have to admit I was confused at the start, getting puzzles I do not understand and being very frustrated. I was debating if I should refund the game but then I started going slowly in each area one by one, and then I was totally hooked and kept going until I fully 100% the game (with help of course). the main thing that I love about this game and one of my favorite pieces of game design is learning through the puzzles. the witness has zero texts nor anything that directly teaches you; it just throws you into the world and expects you to know it. but you'll encounter simple puzzles that'll give hints to the rules until you've fully understood it without even being directly taught. you even encounter puzzles that'll look nothing like anything you have seen making them impossible but also teasing you because you know you'll eventually learn its rules and crack it in the future. though without getting into spoilers, the game does get very slow and frustrating if you attempt to 100% it and the game doesn't reward you with anything if you did it, not even a sm…

Fun puzzle game, quite doable for 2 people on the couch. Weird ending, it reset my game >.<
