Lone Survivors

$5 is an amazing deal for this game even not on sale. Huge skill tree, a bunch of classes with different mechanics, unique map modifiers, and it's got the chill fun you expect from a survivors-like "bullet heaven". What a steal compared to some of the trash asking you for $70+ these days.

Quite good and inexpensive survivors game. Gameplay feels fair and satisfying. Plenty of unlockables provide many hours of play.

Survivor-likes have quickly become my favorite, and most addicting sub genre in gaming. It has also become extremely saturated with loads of newer entries. Lone survivors is not only a solid choice and great bang for your buck, but the dev is also extremely hard working, responsive with everything, and is putting out constant updates on a regular basis. Wish more devs were like this. There are multiple characters, weapons, and strategies that bring a lot of variables and variety to the table, and they're all pretty fun and interesting to use. Definitely worth your time and money IMO.

Honestly fun little game with some cool ideas a good amount of content. i enjoyed my time with it, especially for the price. The main issue that i have is that this game feels incredibly vibe coded with countless little bugs and inconsistencies everywhere. This game felt like it was pushed out more as a "I dont want to work on this anymore" other than a finished title. I imagine there is a lot of technical debt behind the scenes and most of these bugs will never proper fix without some proper code re-writes or band-aid hardcoding.

[/h1] At first glance, this doesn't appear to do anything particularly ground breaking, just another Survivor-like in an endless ocean of Survivor-likes. The skill tree is just a tweak on meta progression, the classes are just stand ins for how most of these games use characters, etc. As you start finding more NPCs, however, more small new features add up. You get a blacksmith with a minigame you can play on each character to boost their default weapon, a librarian that adds new challenges like a boss rush, fishing, etc. Again, nothing super groundbreaking, but when you put them all together it feels like a unique game. All those little features make it clear this game was made with love. This is a Survivor-like made by a longtime fan building their dream game. Let's support this dev and see what's next. (I only gave 9/10 instead of 10/10 because the screen gets too busy at times and becomes hard to track, but that's also part of the challenge in this genre, so won't ding too hard for that.)

Mediocre, with significant issues surrounding visual clarity and sound (single 5 second long sound loop for each level, annoying sfx) and not much creativity to be explored with builds or synergies.
