The Strange Story Of Brian Fisher: Chapter 1

Fun puzzle game where you have to escape the house by solving four challenges. This story follows detective Brian Fisher who can’t accept that his father, who disappeared 20 years ago, is really dead. After attempting to delve further and ultimately learn the truth, he is knocked out and locked inside a cabin in the middle of the woods. Your character also serves as the game's narrator, as he has already experienced the whole plot. He now remarks on everything you do and expresses how he feels in that moment. The voice actor's voice sounds harsh, as if he is attempting to make the character sound tough, but it does not go too far to the point of sounding comical. Gameplay is a standard exploration game with puzzles. Although you start in third-person mode, you can quickly switch to first-person mode to get a better view of what is directly in front of you. Because significant items are not marked, you must rely on your observation abilities; however, when you go close enough and move the mouse cursor over them, they will gain a bright highlight. I cannot solve the fusebox puzzle. I watched a video walkthrough and I seemed to have it right, but it wouldn't progress. I started over and tried it again with different numbers, etc., and it still would not progress. I can't see what else to do, so I cannot continue in the game.

Are you ok with some Slav-Jank? If so, this is a fine little escape room game that'll last you about 2 hours. Aside from 3 annoying issues [spoiler]1: in first puzzle, x & y are reversed leading to some confusion; 2: the maze puzzle has multiple solutions but only 1 is the "correct" solution; 3: the projector puzzle was super unintuitive because (at least for me) to see the projector and the screen at the same time, I had to stand like 10+ feet away which I wouldn't have known without looking up the solution;[/spoiler] I enjoyed my time with the game. It's also kind of weird that you collect items that you just don't use in this chapter. Get it on sale if you can. Grade: C

I must be the odd ball, because the game wasn't "Fun" OR "enjoyable" to play. The electricity puzzle was Ridiculous. Even knowing what I had to do, it just didn't make sense UNTIL I had to look at a walkthrough to see 'how' you had to do it. And I couldn't follow the 'cables' because it was too dark or I should say dingy. Also, I can't find the two chemicals OR the projection screen. Even after looking a many walkthroughs, I still couldn't find them. And then there is the "computer puzzle"... I don't see HOW any person on planet earth could have found this fun. The graphics are OK, sounds etc. fine. The game ran just fine except one time when I got "caught" going back to look in my cell. The character got 'stuck' in the open doorway and couldn't move in Any direction back or forward. A restart fixed that. IF you can pick it up for just a couple of dollars, I'd say give it a try because many people liked it...I just didn't. It's a fine balance between how hard a puzzle is and how Enjoyable it is. Games like Portal, The Room, etc. nailed it....This game just didn't.

Well it's a fairly good puzzle game that plays as an escape room game pretty much, and the puzzles are pretty well though and challenging enough. The problem is that there's not really much of a story going on, it's very vague and not compelling enough to justify it being divided in chapters/episodes, cause I honestly don't feel intrigued enough as to spend more money into getting the chapter 2. As a puzzle game it's ok but as an adventure/mystery game it's not.
