Enigma of Fear

Oh again please Steam give us mixed reviews... This game has some extraordinary well made points and some others disastrously bad. This time I will try to break point by point. Controls: It is okaish except for the combat that is bad, thankfully this game is not combat heavy, interacting with items seems to be a bit broken on controller, I had to use MB+K when examining items to properly check them. Gameplay: The game is 50% open world and 50% linear, at some point it lets you roam free and then it will make you go back to a straight path, this has some good and bad things, giving you the freedom to explore as you wish on a world full of puzzles makes you wander around pointlessly, I was lost more than once I sadly had to look what to do because it was becoming frustrating. Some of the puzzles are just way too obscure I don't see myself finishing this game without having to check a guide at least two or three times. Story: The story is very complex, some portions really caught my attention, but at the same time the game throws you sooo much information, sometimes about puzzles, sometimes about lore and also some useless info that it really confuses you what is important, what sh…

Great game overall, I had a lot of fun with the puzzles! The story is super engaging, though a few parts got pretty confusing and after hours of searching and thinking I had to search some stuff online. I’m a huge fan of story-driven puzzle games with a touch of horror, so this was amazing. It definitely has its flaws, but I’d pick up a DLC in a heartbeat. PROS - Awesome Audio & Art: The sound design is top-notch and the art style is gorgeous. - Great Narrative & Acting: The story is deep and compelling, and the Brazilian voice acting is fantastic with really interesting characters. - Fun Puzzles: Super satisfying gameplay, though a few had me stuck for hours until I gave in and looked up a guide. CONS - Performance Issues: Runs into occasional bugs and frame drops during intense scenes, so optimization could be better. - QoL Missing: No quick save system (lost progress a few times when I had to leave) and unskippable cutscenes make dying frustrating. - Tedious Backtracking: The map is huge and lacks a fast travel system, making trekking from one side to the other a drag. - Vague Guidance: Certain mechanics and story beats could have been explained much better. - Combat: …

Great settings and visual, some amazing puzzle elements and implementations ! Some Eureka moments too ! Beware you may need to look for solutions online (puzzles are as subtle as Myst ones sometimes).

Game of the year desde 2024. Vai demorar pra ter outro jogo de detetive e terror 2D tão bom assim. Queria adotar os gatos que eu tanto ouço no labirinto. 10/10
