✦ AI summary

Players praise Rudymical's addictive gameplay, charming pixel art style, fantastic soundtrack, and high replayability despite its relatively short content, with unique stage gimmicks and satisfying controls that feel fresh compared to other rhythm games. The main criticisms are that it focuses more on boss attack patterns than rhythm elements, making it less musically engaging than traditional rhythm games like Rhythm Heaven, and that the difficulty spikes significantly between Hard and Lunatic modes, though the game remains enjoyable for those who appreciate what it offers.

So I've played this both on the switch and here on Steam, and I have generally enjoyed my time with Rudymical. I do like the Dark Witch series enough, but while those games are typically action platformers in the style of the Megaman series, this game is unique with it's attempt at rhythm elements. I honestly don't think this game is great as a rhythm game, because I felt more of my time was spent focusing on the bosses' attack patterns than the music or rhythm. To me, a great rhythm game such as Rhythm Heaven or Parappa the Rapper has more of a focus on the music than this game does. That being said, I still had a lot of fun with it and think if you can take it for what it is, it's an enjoyable experience. And as to be expected with this series, the art style and characters are super cute still. So if you like the Dark Witch series, I'd say check it out.

I wish more people knew about this game. I usually get tired of songs really quickly in rhythm games and have difficulties replaying stuff for better score. But in Rudymical I somehow enjoyed every single song/stage and it's fun to replay them over and over again. Some stages have their own unique gimmicks that make them stand out, and some just have fun patterns. Different playable characters have different animations which is neat. Controls are simple and easy to understand, yet they feel different from most other rhythm games. Lunatic difficulty makes me cry because it's too fast for me and is way harder in comparison to Hard difficulty. This game has some flaws, but I love it and would recommend it.

I already played in switch (30h). It's a funny and short rhythm game

A super fun rhythm game with a fantastic soundtrack and charming chibi‑style pixel art. The gameplay loop is addictive, satisfying, and highly replayable. I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys rhythm games or anime aesthetics.

Absurdly difficult Rhythm Game, but rewarding all the same. 2 Player is an enjoyable distraction from the main game. There's really not much to say, but if you like the Dark Witch 2 Soundtrack and Rhythm games, definitely give it a shot.

wish more people knew about this game. not a lot of content but the difficulties and the skins make it worth it, IMO. also, if you fight mari (the scientist with the black hair) she makes a funny noise when shes defeated.
