What Steam players say

Players praise the game as a worthwhile sequel after an 8-year gap, highlighting excellent new soundtracks, improved pixel art, well-balanced difficulty, and a meaningful skill tree system that adds strategic depth. The main complaints center on series consistency, with some players feeling the removal of the install system and other changes distance it from earlier entries like DW1 and DW2, though most appreciate the refined gameplay and charming character designs.
It had been 8 years since Inside system released an official sequel after the 3rd game and actually, quite worth the wait. The new soundtracks are very good, the game's story does reinforce the overall world building of the Beatus world and even the gameplay with the new skill tree makes powerups far less tedious to have, adding a more strategic side to it too. The difficulty of the game is balanced to be not too hard but challenging enough to make it interesting. The revamping of the sprites also is quite a pleasant sight, leaving aside the chibi aspect to make more detailed and fine designs. This Megaman X of the Majin Shoujo serie deserves a lot of praise. I loved this game every single steps of the way. (I'm a sucker for the second character. I never thought that this loadout would work so much and be so fun in a semi-bullet hell.)5 found this helpful
A welcome addition to a very small series Zizou still best girl even after all these years3 found this helpful
a well made sequel. the characters are super cute and the gameplay has been tweaked from the last games (pls put dw3 on steam), but it still feels like the same game. I love everything about this game and nothing ever felt unfair about when I was losing. I could feel myself actively learning. lovely sequel, and I enjoy the new pixel style.2 found this helpful
The 8 year wait was worth it, this is peak fiction.1 found this helpful
Really fun game!1 found this helpful
I enjoy the game, but i feel it does not line up with the other games in the series with the removal of the install system and other things that made the series in DW1 and DW2
