About Rhythm Witch: Beat Death

In Rhythm Witch, music is not just background—it’s the heart of battle! Players must follow dynamically generated beats, striking enemies with precision while dodging attacks. Hitting the beat accurately quickly builds weapon energy, allowing for powerful skill releases. Maintaining a combo will trigger Frenzy Mode, significantly increasing attack speed and rhythm tempo, creating a seamless, exhilarating combat experience.Enemies in the game also move and attack in sync with the beat. Face waves of rhythm-synced monsters and enjoy the thrill of effortlessly clearing the screen in a hack-and-slash style. Adapt your skill build to tackle dynamically escalating difficulty, as enemy numbers and attack patterns intensify. Success requires both quick reflexes and strategic planning to dominate the battlefield.

STORY

Rhythm Witch: Beat Death is a game that melds rhythm and survival. Attack to the rhythm of the music while dodging monsters who move and attack to the beat. On your journey to eternal beauty, defeat dancing freaks, ghouls, dragon, and more! Sibel the Rhythm Witch is a necromancer whose one and only goal is eternal beauty. Dyeing her hair, bathing in blood, collecting magic and mystical herbs, modifying her body... She'll do anything if it'll make her more beautiful! Of course, the hard and dirty work is left to the skeletons she summons. On her quest for beauty, she hears tell of the Deathless Tower, which spawns an endless stream of monsters, and—so the rumor goes—holds a treasure that grants immortality. If she gets her hands on that treasure, she can stay young and beautiful forever! What's there to wait for? Skeletons! To the Deathless Tower!

Slapping the simpelest of rhythm game on top of your typical bullet heaven isn't going to make it better, in fact, i'd argue its 3 steps backwards.... Yikes. i didnt think i could like bullet heavens any less but here we are.

I can see the effort and the idea, but I just can't recommend this. I steamrolled through stages 1-4, but after stage 2, it was just boring. It might be an unpolished gem, but it was less fun than Vampire Survivors or even some idle/clicker games I've played before...

I enjoyed the demo awhile ago and recently bought the full game. I like the gathering of buffs and building up the character. It's also a neat hybrid of bullet heaven and rhythm game, two genres I enjoy a lot. The character art is definitely the selling point for me. The art style is so charming! And the pixel art is cute too. Though it's not all perfect. I feel like the art for the attacks/weapons, buffs, and items don't match the rest of the game. They feel a bit over polished and some feel very "generic mobile game". I also wish there was more music or even just music that had more depth. I've played a lot of rhythm games, so having to hear the same tracks isn't the worst thing but also I wish there was more variety. I hope they add more music in the future! There also isn't really that nice combo build-up that rhytm games typically have. No bonus to having a full combo since the taps are pretty repetitive. There's the combo build up for higher attack, but that meter only goes up to 2.0 from 1.0. I feel like I'm at 2.0 already for most of the time. I have yet to unlock the other characters, but I'm excited to see what they'll be like. How their gameplay will differ from our …

Fun, with some issues. The art style is cute and pleasant, but lacks cohesion. The gameplay itself is kind of fun, it's got everything that a rogue-lite game needs, sort of. The biggest issue is in regards to everything to do with the "rhythm game" portion of the game. The music is just not very interesting, and if you don't have solid music in your rhythm game than what do you have, really? And the rhythm game "elements" in the gameplay just are not fun or engaging. This would have been better with the rhythm game aspects either polished, or entirely removed to make room for something that's actually engaging/fun. For a couple of dollars, with low expectations, it's fine.
