DAVY — The Head, The Captain, The Sky

Take the helm of Abby, your colossal living ship — half whale, half war machine — and soar across the infinite Sea of Clouds.
Recruit Officers with unique powers, upgrade your ship, and lead them into evolving roguelite Hunts filled with explosive sky battles and colossal Behemoths.
Strategize, adapt, and abordage enemy vessels as you carve your way to power.
Every victory in the skies strengthens your dominion on the ground — and every defeat only feeds the storm.

2012 graphics which struggle on a high end PC. Also very bugged. The straw that broke the camel back was when I got bugged out of a boss fight after 5+ minutes because I performed a finisher kill on an already dead enemy. The game locked me out of any control and I had to watch my character getting slowly beat to death by enemies.5 found this helpful
It seems it's abandoned, if one day gets a 1.0 release it could be good.3 found this helpful
WARNING: It seems like the game was abandoned by the developers. The last update was in December 2025 and the last communication from them was in March 2026. Since then they are ghosting everyone on Twitter, Discord and Steam Discussion. Due to that - STAY AWAY. Verdict: I would seriously love to recommend the game since I have never seen visuals like this, but it needs a lot more variety and content which we are not going to get. + Positives + + Steam achievements (15) + The world is stunning + Pirates + The opening intro was really neat + Love the soundtrack + You never know what's next + Davy is really funny + Original setting + The fights are actually quite fun, even though you will see them all within the first 2 hours + Treasure hunting + Design of characters + Solid voice acting – Negatives – - No steam trading cards - No weapon variety (you get a sword and a gun, that's it) - No enemy variety (7 enemies) - Enemies have the same faces and since you have to fight them in meele it is quite obvious - Fast traveling is just from certain points to certain points (really limited) - Some unskippable animations take ages (docking ship is like 3 minutes) - Annoying air b…3 found this helpful

Davy X Jones is one hell of a take on both the pirate and "FPS in Hell" (e.g. Doom, Agony, Hellbound, etc.) genres. Rather than simply combining familiar ideas, it manages to create an experience that feels and looks completely unique. The deeply bizarre benthic aesthetic of the setting (what will become Davy Jone's locker, i imagine) is easily one of the game's strongest aspects. It's dark, grotesque, surreal, and wonderfully imaginative, blending pirate imagery with the bizarre, nightmarish environments you'd expect from a game set in Hell. The result is a world that feels simultaneously familiar and completely alien. The game's other greatest strength is the voice-acting, upon which the game relies heavily. Without it, we'd have an totally different (and significantly lesser) beast. I also really appreciate how creatively the game approaches the pirate fantasy. There's clearly a lot of love for the genre here, but Davy X Jones isn't content to simply give us another conventional pirate adventure (there's only so much that can be done with that genre imho). It takes those familiar themes and throws them into a blender with some scopolamine, psychedelic mushrooms, and r…
Well, the game have ways to improve, but it did feels unfinished. The visuals are great but the gameplay is not very good to be fair. Feels cluncky and slow, specialy in combat. The menus clearly needs improvement, they lack structure. No more than 3 types of enemies so far. I've read a lot of comments saying the game is abandoned. I wouldn't recommend it right now.
