You can see how much thought and care went into this cute game! It's the perfect mix of challenging and fun that make me want to keep playing!

The Deepwoods takes familiar roguelite mechanics and puts its own fresh twist on things, resulting in a challenging and highly addictive mixture. I particularly enjoyed the flavour text for some of the ranged weapons: you really can tell that the developer has put a lot of love and effort into this game. Highly highly recommended - I already can't wait to jump into my next run.

Really cool mechanics with a retro style to it and level (clearing) by level system. It's pretty clear that the choice of card sets and decks alters the game experience significantly so I'm pretty keen to unlock more and try more things out. Initially, it felt like I was hitting a wall with the game progression but in just one more day, things picked up and I feel incentivised to get used to new enemy attack patterns mostly and new equip/blessings. I hope fans/creators of the game release a wiki for it some day!

Would be a great game but it is one of those games that ABSOLUTELY NEEDS GAMEPAD SUPPORT. Was stunned the developer overlooked this and it was deal breaker for me. Standard functions missing in a game like this shows inexperience and little attention to what players need and expect. Refunded but as soon as gamepad support is in the game with ability to rebind the gamepad buttons I will rebuy it and change my review. It is unplayable in this state because of the huge amount of action movements and timing needed to play.
