[b]What is important in the game?[/b] [list] [*][b]Scouting by recon units is absolutely critical.[/b] [list] [*]Recon units must always be sent ahead. The recon vehicle has so many movement points that it can scout and then retreat out of the danger zone. This is a major difference between HQ Cold War and HQ WW II; in the latter, it would just stand out of movement points at the front and get shot to pieces. Infantry scouts are equally important. Skill points should urgently be invested into scouting capabilities. [/list] [*][b]The facing/orientation of vehicles, tanks, and helicopters.[/b] [list] [*]Changing the facing of vehicles costs no action points. At the end of a turn, you should always make sure that the front of your vehicles faces the suspected enemy position. [/list] [*][b]"Suppressing" the enemy.[/b] [list] [*]The game indicates if your own unit will be fired upon by a spotted enemy during movement. If you target the enemy beforehand with direct or indirect artillery fire, they lose their "Overwatch" status. This allows you to move closer to them or flank them (see the next point). One of the laziest "games" I have had the misfortune of buying. It still has the sounds and many UI elements (ALONG WITH THE TOKENS FOR UNIDENTIFIED UNITS!!!) of the WW2 title, but has some new models and a bit of a reskin. I'd be unsure about paying $15 for this glorified DLC, and $30 is just greedy. You'd be better off drawing an Abrams and some T-80s on paper and roleplaying a battle on your table.

The game is mediocre at best, but hunting down X units on a map as primary objective is just too much. Find the hidden scout somewhere on the map... mega boring

I will just say this.. the enemy is so OP its crazy. I think by the 3rd mission I lost 80% of all the units. The scenarios are designed piss poor in my opinion. Between the firing squads you encounter, the enemy keeps popping up like pez candy, not sure what the real point is for 5 missions. You will never really use the skill tree barely, and your units will never really get more than 1 point to use to skill up. 2 if your real lucky. In my humble opinion pass on this DLC, 2 dollars a mission and all you will get is a bloody headache.

I truly love this game! It is a little bit simplistic in its mechanics, and some campaign missions are too hard if you don't know about the late mission "twist", but the game's charm is through the roof! The voice acting, the sound effects, the tanks flattening cars when they move, it's all the perfect amount of class and campiness. The game itself is good, even awesome, but it's just not quite great. It's "soul" more than makes up for any deficiencies!
