Cold War Battles

When the demo was released I was particularly drawn in to the Rafah '67 scenario because of how easy it looked to snatch up a fast win. I was wrong. VERY wrong. I played a single demo scenario when it was removed. Bummer. So once the game was released I HAD to buy it. I was curious to see just how far this developer went to adding many more numerous scenarios and he has given us some tasty stuff. After checking out all the scenarios I decided once again to tackle Rafah '67. Once again the A.I. cleaned my clock BUT this time I decided to pay a little more attention to what was going on. It seems your tanks are the fastest way to get yourself obliterated from the dirt you're standing on and I began to move them BACK away from the cities a bit, letting the troops handle the basics for now. This was game three and I was NOT about to give up so easily. To a point it finally paid off as I gained a near win and a steam achievement beeped to me. Good enough, for now. Fun, plays easily. In future updates would like to see the ability to put in obstacles. Perhaps vary the combat result to include a 'pin' by arty against infantry. Mortars seem a bit too lethal at times. Would very much like to see some mid - late 70's Sino-Soviet scenarios. If you do a future hypothetical do the PRC vs Russia with the PRC on the offense into the Russian far east. All in all, a good game. Thanks!

It's a very nice little game. Diversity, good, basic combat resolution, tactically rewarding. Simple. If you're foolish and aggressive you'll get burned. If you prep with artillery, use smoke, it can go better for you. I would tinker with some of the values , but that can all be adjusted. I would like to see morale and unit quality at some point. More scenarios from Vietnam. Again, it's fun. I'm still playing it.

This game is crack for grognards. Very pure mechanics. Fulda Gap reduced to it's essence.

Very fun! The simplicity is what makes this, looking forward to more content.

Fast paced tactical battles against a competent AI. Just a quick browse of the Hotkeys menu was enough to figure everything out. Very easy to dip in and out of if you don't have hours to dedicate to gaming. Great selection of units and great artwork in the unit browser
