STORY

FEATURES

The Remains of Dahlia delivers an investigative experience through its authentic setting, where players will explore a small house and its surrounding area located in a quiet, remote suburban neighborhood in Indonesia. With its old camcorder-style visuals, the game evokes a chilling atmosphere reminiscent of a documentary capturing real events. Through investigative gameplay, players are encouraged to search every corner, uncover hidden clues, and piece together the truth behind Dahlia’s disappearance while feeling the tense and oppressive silence that lingers within every step. Every decision and interpretation of the evidence will lead to multiple possible endings. The Remains of Dahlia is a short game, designed to be completed roughly in under one hour.

✦ AI summary

Players praise this budget game for its atmospheric sound design, effective jump scares, and multiple endings that justify the low price, with completion times around 30-60 minutes. Common complaints include unclear game mechanics like pointless jumping and unexplained triggers for antagonist encounters, confusing UI elements that serve no purpose, occasional bugs like getting stuck in objects, and some frustration with illogical story elements and invisible walls.

I find it funny, Somehow, this game depicts the cruel reality of some real-life situation, the main antagonist would likely never got caught because the police will always not doing their jobs properly. just like many obviously should be solved case with staggering evidence but somehow remain unsolved. Bowo should have called fire department instead of police, lol

Well for a very short and very cheap game, it's kinda ok. Although there are some elements that didn't really makes sense. For example, you can jump, but you don't have a reason to, really. Another is invisible wall, idk I just hate it in general. And then there's the encounter with the antagonist, like, what's the trigger? Just wait long enough to get hit in the face? I don't understand (I encountered him twice in different area so I'm guessing it is time-based trigger event). Oh, and who's the one who took the motorcycle, just random thief? It couldn't be the antagonist, could it? Then there's clue and deduction tab, like, why?? It doesn't do anything, it just there. But again, it's very cheap, and the very first dev's game, so I'll give it a chance for them to make other games. Side note: you might want to make the game a little longer. People could exploited this, I could exploited this. I finished this game along with all the achievements within less than 2 hours I could refund this game. Although I won't do it because I want to support local devs, but other people could.

Honestly. I thought this was a great game for the price. Kinda short. Full completion took me 66mins. Story was pretty sleazy. Atmosphere, sound and music, set a good tone. The graphics were nice. Performance was solid. The developer did a good job. 8/10

got it done in about 30 mins. Had some really scary elements like the noises happening around you. the sound effects were good. the jump scares are random because it depends on where you are on the map which is kinda cool. I filmed a youtube video playing it. enjoyed it.
