No More Demon

It's an OK early access concept. There is a certain jankyness to it, such as reloading won't work. You also cannot reconfigure the controls into something you're more comfortable with. But as a game that's advertising it as "Elite Anime Heroines" exterminating yokais, it's in bad taste that they're using AI for the character portraits and other illustrated assets. Sure, they did have a vague disclaimer to it, but trying to compensate that everything else is made by the devs is kind of negating the essence of their selling feature. "certain illustration assets, such as character portraits" this sure sounds like they're downplaying the Anime Heroine theme and feature of their game. It's the one thing that brought the AI ethics controversy and they're trying to shrug it as unimportant I made a thread in the discussion, asking the devs to elaborate on the AI process they've utilized and see if there are infringement issues and other unethical practices regarding the acquisition of these illustrations. The core gameplay loop is fun. There are quite a few bugs but it is early Access after all and the developers have been very good at responding to bug/glitch reports and other inquiries from the playerbase. This game still has quite some way to go to be considered truely good, but I can see its potential. If the developers stick with it then it could become something very fun and addicting in the future.

i end up impulse buying this because Killing Floor 2, as of 2021, took like 95gb of space and this is just like 1gb and this sorta brings back my memories sure this game just released, seems in alpha, require a lot of QOLs, and developers are receptive of anything bad reported. but i can assure everyone the game worth it. we'll see in like the next several months or so. direly urgent that the AI assets are replaced, add proper character 3d model for coop or bot controlled teammates, and turn invisible walls to visible ones to block off where you shouldn't go

I like the ideas and execution this game has going for it. The styling is a little silly and I think it gives the game charm. It is only alpha still, but there is still plenty to do within the game. Outside of alpha I would like to see an expansion on enemies, levels, character depth, and upgrades. Upgrades are a huge part of the make or break for a roguelite and it seems like there is few paths you can choose in order to truly stand a chance against the higher difficulties. Definitely recommend this game, especially on sale, but when this game gets more expansions I think it has a lot of potential.
