Mycelium Conquest

This game is so weird. I am loving it. It's basically Per Aspera if you were a fungus instead of an AI colonizer. This is gonna... this is gonna do some stuff. There's a certain type of person that this will work for and if you are that type of person IT WORKS.

well, I agree with most of the previous reviews it is an interesting game, but it's hard to understand what's going on. I thought of giving up after 15 minutes, but I played more - and it cleared a bit, but still there are too many things at once. There are 8 basic resources that could be converted into each other with some rates, some bonuses for adjacent nodes, a lot of buildings and researches but when I try to read and understand how it works - someone attacks me or enemy wave approaches (and I have no idea where it is) So I'd say it's a bit overloaded right now, but I hope it will be better in the future.

I picked this up on a whim and completely lost my entire weekend to it. If you're into theorycrafting, min-maxing, and tweaking builds. The upgrade tree is huge. Testing out different mutation synergies and bio-tech combinations is ridiculously satisfying. Experimenting with new setups and landing on a weird combo feels amazing.

2026-06-21: The dev seems incredibly responsive and fixed my two major complaints within a matter of hours! I don't regret the time I've spent with it, but there are quite a few bugs, like the hover UI for buildings completely disappearing (You depend on this to tell you whether that building is operating well.), which requires a full save and reload to fix until it breaks again, so far as I can tell. This seems to happen sometimes when building things, which leads you to not want to build things for having to completely reload the game as a reward. This is the most egregious one, but expect things like teleporting fauna and various visual glitches as well, though these aren't gamebreaking. With that out of the way, the game is an interesting sort of literal 4X where you're spreading a fungus across the map to autoharvest flora and fauna. You get attacked by perambulating creatures in addition to waves that occasionally come. Game is fun but has started dropping to 7 FPS about 20 minutes into my map forcing a game reset each time. Each time game is fine for about 20 minutes then drops again to 7ish FPS.

Game has an interesting concept and it has potential. Needs more work with UI though, i sort of gave up playing the game when i cant figure out how to gain more biomass and i didnt know where the turrets are, basically the resources UI are so jumbled up along with the deeply confusing build ui thats shaped like a mycelial node. Very interesting concept but poor execution. needs more work. Recommended because i think this game can be for someone out there, but maybe not for me. But i still like supporting indie devs so why not try this game out.
