About Xenosensory

~ Deep in the distant future, a primary space prison was attacked by unknown lifeforms. There were gruesome and terrifying reports. Monstrous Xeno forms stalk walkways, ripping apart or abducting the humans they can find. Bizarre and baffling Anomalies are also being reported. What nightmare is unfolding... ~

About

Xenosensory is a short incremental game that takes places on a space station prison and involves otherworldly themes of horror. You are tasked with aiding the convict evacuation by busting various predatory Xenos lifeforms and dealing with bizarre Anomalies along the way. Also.. apples...?

Gameplay

Sit back and simply hover your cursor over the Xenos to automatically bust them for Research Points and help the convicts reach the evacuation point. Spend meta points to gain perks, actions, gadgets, and other unlocks that add extra gameplay elements. Discover lore logs that reveal the true horrifying nature of this space station prison nightmare as well as the secrets to end it all for good.

I didn't jive with the gameplay and skill tree. Cool visuals and theme. With how many amazing incrementals have came out recently, a 7.5/10 game is a not recommend.

This is such a neat and enjoyable little game! It only takes about an hour to 100% complete, though that might vary slightly with your chosen difficulty. While the story isn't ground-breaking, it’s still genuinely engaging and well-crafted. I’m a big fan of this creator, all of their titles carry a wonderfully unique vibe.

Incremental which uses the same aesthetics as the other caiys games (boneraiser minions, voids sigil). It's about 2-3 hours long and is pleasant enough. Top-down view. You try to keep your guys alive but there's aliens stalking them, the corridors are dark, and you have limited weapons/power. Every level switches things up a little bit by introducing new monsters and hazards. The upgrades feel significant enough. There's a little bit of story, with a twist you can uncover by finding easter eggs.

Have really mixed feelings on that one. The vibe is alright, decently cool even, the gameplay is an okay "toy" for a few minutes. But ultimately it feels more like someone just started up an engine for the first time and made their very first project. Not what we've come to expect from this dev. The gameplay is mostly filled with the illusion of content. Pretty devoid of purpose and feeling more like a child's toy to wave around. I feel like the game could have been interesting if genuine thoughtful gameplay had gone into it. The most fun i've had was looking for the apples, and it's nothing incredible either. It passes time, but you won't actually have genuine fun with it. It's also just over the refund window in terms of game lenght, not that it would feel right to refund a small project that admittedly doesn't overpromise anything, but i leave it just as information for future buyers to know better what they might be getting into.

As good as the "Alien vs Predator" movies: We're glad someone did it, but we only remember that we saw it. Xenosensory, by the middle of the game, all skills are already unlocked. The action becomes so chaotic, the screen so full of movement and graphical effects, that becomes boring to continue playing. I hope Xenosensory 2 fixes this, with a half size skill tree, a bigger map and smaller fx.
