With over 170,000 words of story, original artwork and soundtracks, and multiple character perspectives, it offers a dark narrative experience that doesn't require playing the base game to enjoy.

Note 1: This game follows the same setting and focuses on 2 new routes: Roya & Chain. You don't need to play the base game to enjoy this version.Note 2: The secret route and side stories are still in development. I planned these for early 2026. Dark Nights - Reflections is praised by players as an excellent visual novel sequel that expands on the original game with dedicated routes for characters Chain and Roya, featuring gorgeous artwork, sprite design, and emotionally engaging storytelling that keeps players invested across multiple playthroughs. Genuinely one of the best Visual Novels I've read. The story continues to follow the similar plot of the free, main game while adding its own twists to fit the love interest that you choose. You will find yourself involved with two characters: Chain or Roya. The third 'secret' route is coming soon as well as extra stories which will be a free update in this DLC. For the price, yes this is entirely worth $7. I've gotten just about fourteen hours which is seven hours in each playthrough completing all achievements and endings. I heavily suggest playing the free Dark Nights game before this as a lot more things might make you go 'oh, i know this' but in the 'about this game' it says it is not a requirement. The sprites and character design are heavily upgraded, however I always come to find myself sad due to the fact that we cannot romance [spoiler] Jace or Blace, their interactions with the MC is genuinely one of the sweetest things I've seen in Roya's route [spoiler]

This game is pretty awesome, the artwork is amazing. I recall this one time in my twelve grade year, beginning of school and i had just transferred to a new school, I made a friend who sent me a picture of one of Roya's CG's the one with the hands and at the time I didn't know the game. A year later I had gotten my steam deck and had found the game, I found that CG and i just had to send it to my friend, I sent her a pic of Roya too hahah, good memories. Definitely a five star for me.

The original Dark Nights game will always have a piece of my heart. It was my first visual novel, an entrance to the genre and I'm really happy to learn that there are now extra routes for me to devour. To be fair I wasn't the biggest fan of both Roya and Chain, but I quickly warmed up to the idea after learning more about them. The plot follows a manageable pace and is interesting enough to keep reading and reading. The CGs and character sprites are an eye candy too. My favorite so far is the one from Roya's normal ending as seeing it made me cry a little with emotion. This boy seriously needs a hug. I still have to complete Chain's route to write something more about him & his endings, but I can say for sure that I'm enjoying it a lot. I can't wait for Ikuyo's route!

Very nostalgic, I remember playing Dark Nights years ago and loving the original four LIs, with Roya and Chain being ones that piqued my interest as well. It was lovely to see them have their own routes, letting us finally get more of their backstory, and learning more about the other characters in the process. Overall, I found the UI very easy to use, there are lots of features that make it easier to replay and get different endings. The art is also gorgeous! If there's anything that really shines in Dark Nights Reflections, it's definitely the art. Everything from the backgrounds to the CGs to the sprites, they worked together so so well and you can clearly see the love that was poured into this project. Hard to pick a favorite of the two routes since there were definitely strong points in each route. With Chain, learning about his background and history definitely tugged at the heartstrings, and helped alleviate some of the anger regarding his actions in the first game. With Roya, he was definitely morally grey from the get-go, but it was also heartbreaking seeing how his actions led to regrets. I think Chain would appeal to folks looking for a more sweet love story, whereas R…
