✦ AI summary

Gigantic: Rampage Edition was a beloved niche hero shooter that players hoped would get a proper revival, but instead Gearbox released it with minimal updates and poor support, leading to another swift death and empty servers. While the game itself retains the unique and skillful gameplay fans remembered, the lack of developer commitment, stability issues at relaunch, and charging for what was originally free-to-play have left the community feeling abandoned and scammed.

Gigantic was originally released in 2017, and like many online games, it failed to attract a large enough playerbase to be sustainable and was quickly shut down. It was a game with a lot of love and passion behind it, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough. Gigantic was fairly niche, and while it had a high amount of skill expression, most matches would eventually devolve into mindless brawling. imo the main mode was simply underbaked. If Motiga had more time I have no doubt they could have polished it into something genuinely wonderful. So this is great news, they got a second chance right? Not quite, Gearbox (Arc Games) got the IP rights and essentially brought the game back as it was, hoping to make some quick money from it. this is a re-release with very few additions, most of them were already in the original game but cut or never released A contractor (abstraction Games) was brought in to clean things up and get the re-release out the door, and that was basically it. There was no real marketing, no continued development, no balance patches, no bug fixes, no new content. The game was simply released and abandoned online games don't really work like this anymore.[…

They resurrected a dead, free-to-play game, only to charge 20 euro for it, and then let it die again. I feel scammed. The game was really unique though...

I wish this game was playable, but the devs killed it once more. It was an enjoyable game, but with no body there to do anything it isn't worth buying.

They resurrected bro just to bury him in the ground again. Why do this? Why bring back a game just to not update it and let it wither on the bone? This game is genuinely awesome but for some reason it is not allowed to catch a W. Horrible server stability at relaunch and now this. I really want to know what the plan was in terms of bringing this back. I guess I did get to relive the joy of playing this game one more time (which sounds so cringe to say) but it could've been so much more if they decided to support the game further. Huge loss for hero shooter/moba likes

Used to be one of the most fun MOBAs on the market, and I was THRILLED when it came back. Unfortunately, all of us fans got to witness it die for a second time, as it was brought back in a WORSE state, and the game is empty as a result. Keep an ear to the ground for if someone who actually cares gets a hold of this game and revives it, but be guarded. Do not buy this game
