Elemental: Reforged

Conceptually, this is a great 4X fantasy game with tons of replay potential. The graphics are beautiful. The endless worlds that you can create are wonderfully diverse. However, although there are recent game updates, they feel more like data mods and not updates to the game engine and UI. Thus, I am left with the impression that this game has been abandoned by the devs that could fix the issues listed below. The UI is missing critical information such as champion resistances and the equipment load out management is a mess (you cannot even see all equiped gear when 13+ items are equiped). Tool tips are not aligned with actual reality and thus will misguide the unwary player. My Experience: The sound no longer works for me even though updates have been released to address this. Enabling sound will crash the game for me within a few turns. The game even refuses to function as some point (like at turn 570 in a recent game) with the END TURN button sending the game into limbo. Even loading prior save did not resolve this untimely, undesired disappointing game ending. Welp. If you purchased this like I did believing that the redesign of the game had gotten rid of the problem with FE:LH crashing you'd be (like me) wrong. It's *better* but its still freezing and crashing on the reg

Hi y'all. First let me say I love the game. The game is awesome! But... crash, crash and again... crash... freeze... crash... I am around 250 turn, and I now crash every 2-3 turns... when I press f9 to quick load I crash. When I press next turn, I crash. When the game freezes, after I right click notification, I went to task manager to end the task and I see ram usage going slowly up to 16 gigs of ram... What the hell... This game is UNPLAYABLE in this state...!!! It should never have been released like this. I let it cook for a while, didn't want to get the game right away cuz of the comments that there are bugs. Ok, I waited couple of months, and I saw devs write they are fixing bugs and crashes, nope... still not fixed. I would be more than happy to change my review to positive when they get rid of the damn crashes. But right now, I can't play this game, not that I don't want to, it's not possible! I am on win 10, Lenovo Legion 5 laptop 2020 Ryzen 7 5800H cpu and nvidia 3070 gpu edition.

A clunky early 2000's Civ / AOW clone with detailed unit customization. For example, you can give your regular tier 1 scout unit better armor and a +1 sword, a +1 helm etc. instead of just your lords and champions. I loved the idea of unit customization but unfortunately that too is a clunky mess. Examples: You cannot delete custom races if you mess up or don't like them. There just isn't an option to do it in-game. You have exit and go into the game files to delete them. Also, if you create more than one sovereign or race during the same gaming session somehow they all show the same backstory you created until you restart. No good clothing. face, armor choices. Lacking nice civ banners, not many to choose from, a couple of trees, spiders and a few medieval logos with limited color choices. Overall just a super frustrating experience if you're into customization. Not very many mods, very few to help address the game's flaws. The UI is bad as well. Unit and city borders are hard to see. Good luck finding that 1 champion in the forest or that 1 creepin' enemy. Crude battle maps with ridiculous choke points especially in cities. No sieges. Feels very dated, bland, bas…

Addictive gameplay. Just one more turn ends up being 25 more turns or 2 hours.

My recommendtion is a "depends on your preferences in type of game." This is a game that's both highly addictive and highly frustrating. The game play keeps me going 'one more turn; I can quit anytime." But the landscape is extremely frustrating compared to every other 4x I've played; usable territory is often far apart, and there are "unrest" penalties for not being part of a contiguous territory linked to the capital. I've also not found good documentation or strategy guides beyone the game's beginning. But I keep playing. "just one more turn.'
