The Occultist

At the Funhouse I got chased by a ghost, went down a ladder... Had to go back up the ladder and there was the ghost. Died. Leading up to that it's been like walking through a buffet of disappointment and frustration. Audio/dialogue lines seem to play in the wrong places at times. The vast majority of the ghosts and paranormal aspects are just annoying events that don't seem to add much value. Each area is this circular run around and find things so you can find other things. Fine for an Adventure game, I guess. But some of the codes you need to decipher are rather obtuse. Figure out a name for a room by remembering something from one of the several notes you read earlier, not knowing if any of it is important... Because most of them are not. Odd puzzles that lead you towards numbers.. Eh.. I don't know man. It's either going to click with you pretty early, or it isn't.

I can't really suggest this game. I thought it would be better than it was and was looking forward to it. I mean it's not awful, but the story is kind of dumb. The ghosts don't really pose much of a threat. I mainly just don't get what this guy's job is.

this game reminds me of conarium and genuinly loved it. would like to see more from the occultist or something different from the studio and ill look forward to it.

everything about it can be explained as good, not the best but good. it has an eerie atmosphere unique to each location. you are hunted here and there by ghosts, creatures and the living. and bringing the story is good. investigative elements and the pendulum aproach is unque. quite enjoyed it as it scared me here and there and that song whoa that gave me jitters.
