About A Clockwork Ley-Line: Daybreak of Remnants Shadow
This is a sequel to A Clockwork Ley-Line: The Borderline of Dusk! We highly recommend reading that release before jumping in to A Clockwork Ley-Line: Daybreak of Remnants Shadow.
In the middle of the forest stood, Libra Lapis Lazuli Private Academy. Attached with a tall clock tower, simply isn't just a normal academy.
Follow the story of Koga Michiru as he worked the orders of the Bureau for the Investigation of Special Affairs, or simply called "Bureau", together with his friends as they solve the schools mysteries and problems.
Until that day when an unlikely visitor appeared before the school's doorsteps. In search for her grandmother's keepsake, she pushed order after order towards the bureau, an unknown foreigner from an unknown country--Adelheid Ritter von Weinberger.
"Yes, perhaps we should test their ability."
While wrapped up in search for Adelheid's keepsake, it was as if time started passing by at their command.
Is it because of the secret their academy possessed--the Realm of Night? Where were these strangers from? Where will they return to? Follow the secrets and mysteries alongside our heroes and heroines in "Daybreak of Remnants Shadow"!

Clockwork Ley-Line 2 is widely praised as a significant improvement over the first game, with players highlighting a more engaging main story, better character development, meaningful plot reveals, and unexpected twists that keep the narrative compelling. However, players consistently criticize the side character routes as unnecessary filler that detract from the main experience, and some note minor plot inconsistencies with the original game.
This review is being written after only reading the first two titles in this series. Clockwork Ley-Line 2 improves upon the first outing by both having a more interesting story and developing some characters in a more satisfying and quick manner. The characters that were focused on in the first entry do somewhat get ignored though as it assumes you have already read the first entry and know their characters fairly well. I think this title takes what was established in the first and builds upon it in a satisfying way overall. There is also a clear setup for the concluding title that, while frustrating, is interesting enough to get you to come back without being too much of a cliffhanger. There are some minor plot holes or inconsistencies between the two visual novels or some suspension of disbelief you'll have, but otherwise it's a pretty solid story so far. Systems and most of the music is reused from the original title, although there is a brand new OP, which is amazing. There are 6 ecchi scenes present. I'd recommend this title to anyone who enjoyed the first title, and so far I'd recommend the series to anyone who enjoys mystery-ish stories.1 found this helpful
We got a lot of questionable things happened in the prequel and here, in Clockwork Leyline Daybreak of remnants Shadow, they will all be solved one by one. By far, definitely a really good sequel as everything is slowly revealed, such as the true intention of the principal(Fuhito), where exactly is Mutsuki(Ushio's bff), what exactly is the relationship between morning and night students etc etc. Stay hyped up because it ain't no more just slice of life, things aboutta get serious here. Again, Clockwork Leyline Daybreak of Remnants Shadow bring us 3 routes. just like the prequel. That being Adelheid, Fuhito and Ushio route. Ushio route being the continuation of the main story. And then again, in my honest opinion, Adelheid and Fuhito routes are totally unnecessary because they don't talk a lot on the main story other than just making you understand their character more. I mean, I did find Adelheid a little bit cute due to her gap moe but as for Fuhito, ehh, she kinda running WILD man, Idk, no comment. What surprised me the most is the relationship development between Mitsuyoshi and Ushio. Just as I thought the H scenarios that happened in the prequel wasn't canon because they wer…1 found this helpful
The second game is better than the first with a more interesting story for once and there's more BGM, plot reveals, and characters goofing around. The side routes are still as bad as the first game though.
The story for this installment is definitely an improvement over the first (not that Dusk was bad, by any stretch!) There's more magic, characters, and lore this time around. It also gets a bit darker, and throws some twists in that you definitely won't see coming. That being said, it doesn't feel forced either. There are 4 endings (5, counting a "fail" state you can reach.) The true SSS ending is really good, and of course the D ending is ok, there's just no love interest involved. The two side characters ... their routes are much more fleshed out than in the first game. If you are going to follow all the routes, definitely do the side routes first. The endings take the story in completely different directions. About those routes...
Heidi route is good, Fuhito route is really out of left field and is frankly a bit creepy
I very much already enjoyed the first volume of this series. It has an interesting premise, with very likeable characters, and while I knew that this volume was apparently better than the first volume according to ratings, I didn't actually think it would be this much better. Though with that being said, it didn't really start off that differently from the first game. However, much later on you will stumble across many different plot twists, making it difficult to put this game down. You'll even find that little minor details actually have much more meaning later on. This is definitely one of the better VNs that I have read in the recent years, and I look forward to completing the third volume.
