I am not a fan of the game but still their are good things about this game. if you like pure platform game, this is for u. its not my cup of tea in platforming but I still recommend to those who likes speedrunning or precises platforming.
Hell no! Pure pain while basic gameplay.
It was fun to begin with, challenging after some levels in, but eventually just got too frustrating to me, game got a couple bugs, but besides that hitboxes seems relatively well made on spikes etc. What really annoyed me much was some achievements like trying to get all 100 levels in a row with few deaths, though apparently that is also cheesable, which is also bad in another way. (I did not bother to even try, I don't have more patience for this game) Cave runner levels, not the first few, but eventually, are some of the worst to me, as I don't really have time to think much, and I don't have it in me to try and do the last 8 levels. Here also crouching is pretty much just mandatory and yet it does not reduce your speed so... you could honestly just glue down the crouch button while doing them... it is redundant, you basically just want to keep it pressed, because there is no reason not to. If you are some super hardcore platformer with high skill that likes super hard challenges the later levels might be something for you. (Unlike me, skill issue)
When it wants to work, it's enjoyable. Unfortunately prone to crashes as a result of software decay. Semi-functional on the Steam Deck.
A Walk in the Dark is a good platformer and there are so many levels. However, I had to get used to the controls at first. The steering feels really good, but jumping felt very vague or floaty. If you jump in one direction, you should also commit, as changing direction is more likely to mean death. Nevertheless, I can only recommend the game. The price is also very reasonable.
It's definitely not a bad platformer, but I guess some people could get frustated by the controls which feel a bit slippery at the beginning. I'd still recommend it, it's fun once you get used to the physics.
