Adelantado Trilogy. Book Two

A meh resource management puzzle game. My main problem is just that the levels take too damn long (sometimes upwards of an hour) to beat. And at the end of the second to last level it seems to have somehow bugged out and it was unsolvable (I had to get 1 single thing more to finish the level and I quadruple checked everything and there was no way of getting it). Works without issues on Linux with Proton (4.11-7).

The second part of the series is not bad, a lot of improvements compared to the first. Demolition of buildings renewing new buildings and things and save system. No achievements, that's a plus. The minus is very long levels and bugs that make you save often. The bad thing is that seva is only at the exit the game. The calmest level is best, there is no point in rushing. Quite classic, it looks like quite a lot of freedom in this style of games. It's best with a discount.

This is a most excellent game, with strategy, puzzles and realistic goals.

I just love the Adelantado Trilogy. I love the graphics, the re-playability, and the sheer fun. I play through the whole trilogy nowadays about once a year as I need to forget some details so that it is still fun. Some people feel that is a grind as you are always whacking bushes and building and checking up on progress. But for me, that IS the fun. YMMV

[u]Recommendation[/u]: Another good entry in this series of "efficiency" games. [u]Critique[/u]: This series is similar to the "Labors of Hercules" games, in that the gameplay in both involves a list of set tasks to perform, and the challenge is in figuring out the best way and order for performing those tasks. Unlike in the Hercules games, the Adelantado games have "fog" covering unexplored areas, and the levels can span several screens. So there is a lot more exploration here...which means that it is much more likely in the Adelantado Trilogy to have to replay a level multiple times in order to complete it with a "winning" time. The first (few) attempt(s) are just spent figuring out where everything [i]is[/i], and only then can you play to win...unless you're very lucky, of course. Sometimes you can stumble into or intuit a winning chain of actions and complete a level on the first try...but this becomes increasingly unlikely as the game progresses and each level gets more and more complicated, with very long task lists.
