Writing this review as a full F2P player without any prior experience with this on mobile. Is this a "real" Age of Empires game? No Is it an Age of Empires reskin of other mobile strategy games? Yes Does it bring me back to the days of playing browser strategy games? Also yes Obviously it is a massive skip if you dislike mobile games, there are a TON of P2W features for people to spend infinite money on and as F2P you will never be able to compete. However, even as pure f2p you are still a big asset to your alliance and even the pay piggies will want you for your contributions. If you can live with this and just take the game for what it is, a f2p long-term, alliance based progression strategy game, it's definitely high quality. It has enough interesting features to log in daily and do your quests. Plus there is also enough variety in content to not get stale. That being said, it is a mobile game with predatory microtransactions and people who are vulnerable to these tactics should skip and not get baited. However, that is the world we live in currently.1 found this helpful
Pretty addicting, it does its best to draw you in but even though I haven’t experienced any of the issues that the reviews are saying, doesn’t mean they’re wrong. It’s definitely a pay to win and it feels like a Chinese developer has touched this as there’s so many pop ups and different currencies, it’s mental. It’s one of the better city building games for mobile that I’ve played but that isn’t saying much.
this game is so fun and make you busy for hours and it runs very smoothly on midrange pc
I do not think that AoE needs any more introduction.The legend lives.
