Warriors who lose themselves and degenerate into crazy beasts;
A killing machine who walks the skies covered in razor-sharp blades;

code vein but better

Very chill soulslike. That game has no long boss runbacks, interesting story, plenty of cool looking armors, weapons and bosses(some of the bosses could be a little bit harder). One thing i didnt personally like was the parry mechanics, its way to powerful against most of the bosses.

One of the few modern soulslikes that caught my eye. It has a relatively simple system but with enough depth that i adore it, it's very bloodborne esque, in that it is minimal in terms of your weapons that you can use and armour isn't overly important, the upgrades are nice and easy enough to follow. It doesn't try to do too much, but I especially love the deliberate flow of combat, it's not too fast and thankfully doesn't go into what I'd call "parry slop" but it's definitely not slow at all either, it's the perfect speed for me. The difficulty is pretty on point, the tracking of the enemies are very strong and dodge timings are pretty tight but it feels so good when you get into the flow. Nothing feels so overpowered or spammy, so basics and some spell usage, feels calculated in terms of damage and is more grounded. Simple, looks absolutely mesmerising on a good PC, especially love Hagios Patir. It does what it does to a very high quality. My favourite souls game in recent years, even more than lies of P for me personally. A very high 9.3/10

Got it on Sale. Loved the Story and the gameplay. Can't wait for the 2nd DLC! I only wish we could have hair options rather than helmets (or hair options unlock as we buy). Especially Corrupted Blader Visor's hair.

Very solid soulslike. Absolutely punches above its weight. Solid mechanics and different enough from From's catalog to stand on its own. If you enjoyed Dark Souls 3, absolutely give this one a try. I played the whole thing on my Steam Deck with no issues. Maybe a stutter or two here and there but nothing that took away from the experience.

Pretty darn good for what it is - A B-tier anime soulslike in the same vein as something like Code Vein. A blind first run can be beaten in about 20 hours, but that is perfect for the scope and cost AI Limit goes for. I appreciate the game goes for a slower and more careful observational pace for level navigation while still maintaining some f-you enemies and enemy placements to keep you on your toes. In other words, you will get smacked down if you aren't careful but the game provides you with a lot of tools to ensure a careful player won't be put in crap situations. However, if you are going for all-in aggression, the game tends to reward you for that too. The sync system is excellent for incentivizing players to go in melee as well as use their spells. This replaces a traditional stamina and mana bar system by giving you resources for successfully engaging in combat. You're not draining a stamina bar when dodging a wacky combo. Instead, you are constantly repositioning and slapping/nuking the opposition. Given the direction soulslikes have gone with combat, this is a very good implementation. Level design and set pieces are great. I have come to terms that we will never get a …
