Despite the poor reception this game had throughout the years, I truly think it may be a lot misunderstood. It's obviously not the best air simulator out there, but it is still fun regardless, even if it seems a bit graphically lackluster. As a guy who's played through this game at least 4-5 different times, I still feel as if the reviews to the game is rather unnecessary compared to it's predecessor, Pacific Carriers. With maybe the exception of the gigabyte size. But alas, this game's time has passed and the multiplayer to it is no longer functional. But the campaign's a fun fictional events of a pilot and his family's decline within their relationship. Akin to 1960's anti-war sentiment growing back home, it's a typical Vietnam anti-war message from that side and then there's the action in the skies, unlike fighting in the jungles from below, you are the ones conducting the bombing and dog-fighting in the air. Some of the events are real life oriented, like the Tet offensive and the Fall of Saigon, Deployment of Agent Orange, which is a nice plus for a game going through historical detail. If it ever crossed your mind playing this game, I'd recommend it only if it ever goes…1 found this helpful
This game was pretty fun when I played it on console years ago, but on PC you have to struggle to get the game to crash without launching, it crashes mid-mission frequently anyway, and I can't get more than a quarter of the way through the game because the illumination bombs don't count even when they land in their target area. A shame, I really wanted to enjoy this game again.
good fun game missions a bit repetative
VIETCOND DLC IS MISSING
This game is not that bad at all, I kinda liked it, and no, i have no nastalgia here. It is playable on modern systems, but only if you are ready to spend some time altering different graphics setting, and after it is even enjoyble in 80% of a time. Story is here just to move you around and entertain sometime. Also it just basically intoduces you into Vietnam conflict from US side and shows you how bad it is. Game is not that bad as it is shown in reviews, and ofc it is not great, but if you like planes\helicopter, Vietnam and smell of napalm in the morning, I recommend You to try it out.
It is a game illustrating a historical event which changed entire country
I remember when my dad gave me his Xbox 360 when he said he "Got too old for it." and the first game i played was this and i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved it and the remastered is even better. To anyone wanting to get a good Vietnam game and likes long story lines i recommend this.
