Alien Strike: Blasting the Intruders

3.5/10 contra clone - some bs hitboxes. tossed pool of poison killed me from a platform above well i was jumping under it. wasnt even close + 3 player local co-op

Picked this game up after playing the demo from an Indie event. It's not a bad game from a small Brazillian (I think) team. PROS: + Contra style of play is pretty responsive + Art Style is nice + Music is solid CONS: - Some of the platforming parts are a bit wonky/unresponsive - ladder movement is a bit stiff especially when shooting. - Enemy placement (especially in later stages) seem a bit unfair/Trap like - Some of the bosses are a bit confusing (especially near the end) OVERALL SCORE: 6.5/10 If you like Contra, you should give this a shot and see if you like it!

Its ok. The problem I have here is the game isn't bad...but I can think of other Contra clones that are around the same price that do it better. I can even think of one off the top of my head that is 1/2 the price that does it better. Also It seems some shots just travel through enemies. But it is enjoyable. I got it in a pack of a bunch of Nuntias games for $8. I kept 4....so $2 for this isn't bad. Its decent...but prepare to not be fully impressed and you will do just fine.

This was a lot of fun and 3 players is more than contra/metal slug it is inspired by. It is cool to have super moves and 2 weapons to alternate between, in addition to easy mode. The demo is easily worth a try if you're on th fence.
