Nice little megaman clone. You can beat it in 30 minutes on your first playtrough. It's good fun for the asking price.

This is one tough game to get through. I got to the 1st level boss to which was really hard to beat. If you want a challenge i test you to play this game.

fun little game i got it on sale for $1.24 pretty short game the controls feel good its mega man clone with some X mechanics added took some inspiration from x1 the bosses have an easy to learn pattern music is decent and the pixel art is okay overall i would recommend

Alphaman at it's base is a pretty decent megaman inspired game. There's fun to be had and it can definitely give that itch if you really want megaman. I think there's just a lot of small annoyances that end up hindering my enjoyment of it unfortunately. The level design is alright usually, though in the maid bot level it really has issues with not seeing ahead (and there are a lot of enemies that will just fall onto you. Enemy variety can be a bit lacking as well. The two issues I ran into a lot are the lack of coyote time and unclearness of how to tackle some of the later enemies. Some of the minibosses don't really feel clear on what attacks are even doing anything. I also feel like half the new attacks are just kind of bad in this game? The Knife feels like it does almost no damage, and doesn't even seem to hit some airborn bosses, and the holy molotov is so specific to set up it doesn't seem to be worth it? I never even figured out what boss is weak to it. If it's fire man I sure didn't gather that from the no damage the weapon does. What ended up really making me frustrated is the last boss. A Megaman-inspired Kaizo that's visually smoother and more slippery (in terms of controls). Music is great, foes and stages are fair and distinct, but some platforms are very precise and the save checkpoints aren't well spread out. There isn't a tutorial for the player to learn how Alphaman controls, if you started the game blind and without reading the description, you wouldn't be remiss to know Alphaman can use his special ability without using his power, if you longpress the "x" button. You can also dash by holding shift. There's a handful of secret stages you can access if you're agile enough, earning yourself a variety of keys that each increase your special power capacity. Balance is a major issue though. The first filter point is fighting the first boss without any notable special ability, but as you beat the bosses you unlock an ability from them. The become significantly easier once you get the Maid's broom, but certain bosses go down easier if you use specific weapons such as the firebomb, the flamethrower, or the knives. At the end of the game, you're tasked with fighting all four of the bosses AGAIN, one after the other, with no checkpoint inbetween. After beating t…
