Ancient Battle: Alexander delivers a unique wargaming experience on PC and Mac.
Use Macedonian Phalangites, Greek Hoplites, Indian Elephants, Scythed Chariots, Persian Cavalry, Catapults, Archers, Slingers, and many other unit types to engage in classic battles. Three campaigns that allow you to refight Alexander's battles in and around Greece and Macedonia, including the battle of Chaeronea. The second campaign follows his push to conquer the Achaemenid Persian Empire, while having to deal with rebellious Spartans in Greece. Finally Alexander’s campaign in India, ending in the epic battle of Hydaspes, with the Macedonian Pike Phalanx versus the masses of Indian Elephants.

Fun little simulator where you can fight in the battles of Alexander's Campaign, from Greece to the shores of the Indus. Decent AI (even the Casual level can surprise), and good for a quick game.12 found this helpful

I love this game. The new update gives a lot of great QoL features, but unfortunately for now I have to not recommend because there is now a bug that crashes the game very often whenever light cavalry or infantry enters into melee combat or are attacked in melee by another unit. (This also seems to happen with other units too but not as much) I hope the devs are able to fix it. Edit: there are loots of other bugs two - Spark of War is now impossible as Athens because you lose as soon as any Macedonian unit dies Edit 2: the newest update seemingly has fixed most of the bugs but Spark of War is still impossible - now the game thinks the control point is lost as soon as any unit on either side dies1 found this helpful
Great hex strategy war game where you pit your wits against computer operated forces, based on the actual battles of Alexander the Great. Players move their forces in turn based combat, attempting to eliminate the enemy. Three levels of difficulty, over 20 different battles, where you can choose to play either side.1 found this helpful
The game had some annoying bug previously. Now, that it has been updated to v5 I gave it another try. Unfortunately, it got worse: On my Laptop, the screen remains black when starting the game, while music is playing. On my desktop pc, the game crashes during the tutorial (1st mission) when an enemy unit enters a space next to one of my units.
