Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile app
Ancient Saga: Vikings Journey is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free. There's only a superficial "game" here. This is a basic ripoff of 12 Labours of Hercules, you know the clicker where you have to spend/collect resources to chop up logs on your path or whatever... you know the type, basic platespinning stuff designed for mobile phones. This looks like it was set up to be monetised the same way, and the developer spent a fair bit of cash on buying fake Russian reviews, so we can just wonder why they had problems shoving a cash shop into the mobile app. On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as you're expected to pay up $5 USD to unlock content/DLC, the game should not be considered completely unlocked until you empty your wallet for the developer. This is some nasty, predatory pricing and PC gamers don't like it. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's …8 found this helpful
Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile app Edit: some pople say that there was an update which solved this, but I still can not play chapter 3, only a screen comes up that I should by the next chapter...2 found this helpful
I am soooo disappointed! I love time management games and was planning to purchase the DLC for Ancient Saga: Vikings Journey but I prefer to play relaxed. This game is only equipped with a "harsh" (at least for me) timer and if you fail the timer you have to restart the level. I finished level 1 with 3 stars, level 2 with 2 stars and failed level 3 the first time. I did manage to get 1 star the second time around. One plus for this game is that you can replay the level to get the puzzle piece if you missed it and then quit the level without actually replaying the level.1 found this helpful
Ancient Saga: Vikings Journey - Resource Management Simulator shines as a delightful mobile adventure for anyone who loves puzzles and exploration. Its simple, intuitive gameplay makes it easy to dive in, and the bonus puzzles and side quests add a burst of excitement, opening up fresh locations and fun secrets to uncover. It’s the kind of experience that keeps you tapping “just one more puzzle” without even noticing the time. However, the overall content and feature depth feel a bit light for a full PC release, where players generally expect a more substantial package.
I enjoy playing the game
