Anomalous Railroad Crossing

The anomalies in this game are absolutely amazing. It's rare to bump into a game that has so many funny, imaginative, cool, slightly scary anomalies all in one game. Looking forward to more games from this developer, well done! I'm a super big fan now!

Anomalous Railroad Crossing is a pretty standard anomaly-hunting game with almost no scary moments, featuring graphical assets clearly taken from a free library and heavily copying the studio’s previous title, Anomalous Crossing Shibuya. In other words, get ready for more anomalies in a picturesque Japanese town — and knives falling from the sky right onto you. The game isn’t among the best in the genre, and honestly, I’d call it weak if it weren’t for one or two anomalies that actually made me sweat a bit — not just because you have to see them, but because you have to experience them. This is by the same dev who made Anomalous Crossing: Shibuya, and like that game this is an anomaly-hunter set in a real-life location - in this case, the railroad crossing at Kamakura, Japan. Much like the Shibuya game, I liked the vibe of this one - its graphics make me think of old 2011-12 era Slenderman's Shadow and other Unity horror games. As for gameplay, I enjoyed it - some of the anomalies are obvious, others much more subtle. Some of them get creepy, and others comical. Though my one slight criticism is the one anomaly with the car on the train tracks - that's one of a few anomalies that can kill the player character, and the problem is it feels like you can't avoid it when it shows up. Loved this one! Can't wait to go into it again to find the anomalies I haven't seen yet. Starting to develop a slight phobia to knitted bears, but overall I think I liked it better than Shibuya crossing. Would definitely recommend. A game based on a famous meme. Interesting. This onegame that is mostly horror. The setting is pretty simple. There is a level-grade railroad crossing, and you have to find potential anomalies. You spawn at a place, and walk to it, and let a train pass. Once it is passes, you go across, pick up a train pass called a “IC card”. Then walk into the station. If there is no anomaly, then go into the green door. IF there is an anomaly, you go into the door marked with an X. Then repeat. There is one other person in game. He alwayss walks from his spawn point to the his bicycle. The goal is to repeatedly detect if you see an anomaly and walk through the corresponding door, 12 times. That is all to the game. Each time, there is potentially a new anomaly. Examples include, the man having a personal storm falling on him. Another ti me, floatign daggers that could kill you if you do not react fast enough. The two car train becoming VERY long. A giant teddy bear out to kill the player It also could be subtle as the station map being pushed thrown the wall, and far from the station. Or the person appearing through the street mirror. And finally, when the game is actually complete, …

Very nice anomaly game! Great variety of anomalies—some fun and obvious, others sneaky and unsettling. The setting at and around the Kamakurakōkōmae station is fantastic and makes the experience even more enjoyable (and eerie). For the price, this is definitely worth trying out!
