Ant Guardians Prologue is a surprisingly enjoyable defense game that I found more engaging than I expected. I play as a commander trying to defend a corrupted crystal while waves of enemies keep pushing toward me. I liked that the game gives me a simple objective but still lets me decide how I want to build my defense instead of just placing the same units in obvious spots. The combination of tower defense and direct action gives it a nice little identity. The main gameplay revolves around gathering resources, summoning different units and deciding how to stop the incoming enemies. I can use walls to block routes or place tougher units where I need to hold a position. I enjoyed the feeling of building a defensive line and then watching it get tested once the next wave arrived. It made each placement feel useful rather than just being another upgrade on a menu. The unit system also gives me some room to experiment. Different allies have different strengths, and I can improve them with enhanced items and skills.
