This audio-focused game offers a genuinely unique experience that players appreciate for its creative concept and immersive binaural sound design, though opinions vary significantly on execution. The main criticisms center around amateur voice acting, poor clarity in objectives (especially toward the game's end), and frustrating moments where players struggle to understand what they're supposed to do, sometimes requiring trial-and-error to progress. Despite these issues, some players find it a worthwhile short experience for the price, while others feel the lack of clear guidance and occasiona
A game with no visuals whatsoever. An interesting concept held back by poor voice acting and lengthy stretches without gameplay that cannot be skipped.3 found this helpful
I was going to recommend this until the very final bit at the end. I struggled with it for over 30 minutes. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, and I only beat it though random sequences. I never figured out what I was supposed to do. Just blind luck. Incredibly frustrating, and it just killed the whole game for me.1 found this helpful
No game is like this.
I was hoping for the firs doom but with ray traced sound instead of graphic, but get "follow to the sound and listen story", there is shooting sometimes but its more like "click the sounds" because you just stand shilded, I prefer older version where bullets were slow and noisy. Also what with the walls? there is no way of detecting a wall, i am not even shure there are walls.
No idea why I forgot to put my review here earlier... This is fantastic short first person adventure game with shooting elements! It is of course audio game and the audio works fantastic! The game is using Binaural sound so it is even more immersive. :) I can fully reommend it even if it's rather short experience. 10/10
Apotheorasis is a fairly short game. The voice acting is definitely amateur (though quite charming, in my opinion) and the story is just okay. That said, for the price of a movie ticket, this game offers an experience I would strongly recommend. It’s fun, unique, and makes for a perfect one-evening playthrough.
