This game is so cool!!!! It really makes you appreciate the work that goes into sound design, and just gives you a whole different perspective on interactive media. Plus the full experience of the game is completely accessible to blind people, which I don't have to mention is pretty damn uncommon in the video game world. Some of the reviews have complaints about the voice acting but honestly, I think the VAs sound like they're having a great time (scientist ily you're an absolute riot) and I'm so here for it. The prologue feels more like an interactive experience/film than a game, which isn't a bad thing, just something to be aware of if you're expecting it to be mostly gameplay--there's a lot of cutscene. I personally would have liked to have had more interactive sequence; it felt unbalanced with short gameplay segments sandwiched between long cutscenes. That being said I still really enjoyed the experience and when I get the chance I'm super hype to get the full game >:0

Apotheorasis • Lab of the Blind Gods | Prologue is one of those experimental games that takes a familiar genre and changes the way players interact with it at a fundamental level. Rather than presenting a traditional first-person shooter filled with detailed environments, weapon models, interfaces, and visual effects, it builds its experience almost entirely around three-dimensional sound. Developed and published by Tall Guy Productions, the game places the player in the role of someone who cannot see, turning careful listening into the primary method of navigating, fighting, surviving, and understanding the strange situation unfolding around them. The story gives this unusual design a meaningful foundation. The protagonist awakens after a devastating incident with blindness, an inability to speak, and no clear memory of who they once were. From there, the player is drawn into a mysterious sequence of events involving an unfamiliar laboratory, questionable experiments, unusual beings, and characters whose intentions are not immediately trustworthy.
