Pros: - I liked the characters. - I liked the style choices. - I liked the sense of adventure. Cons: - Many of the puzzles are awful. Some of them are incredibly simplistic, others require ridiculous leaps of logic, and it felt like there was little in between. - Some of the mind maps are incredibly unintuitive. Sometimes you have to draw genuine connections, other times you have to draw connections you *know* to be wrong. And there's often multiple nodes referencing the same idea/concept/object, so it becomes a guess to know which one to choose. - Some puzzles require you to go back and look at items you've already looked at, even though you (the player) already know exactly what they contain, and so should your character. This forces you to go back and revisit things that you should rightfully think you're done with. - If you miss something said in a dialogue, there's no way to replay that information without replaying the entire chapter. - Some of the dialogue is slow and unskippable. - Many times, a dialogue choice was obvious to me, but the game would gatekeep it behind needing to walk across the map to click on something (so that my character could make an observa…1 found this helpful
A wonderful little detective game where you wind up playing all sides of the story to a rather inevitable conclusion, with a cute little framing device. Definitely a fun adaptation of the character. The gameplay is nothing new, but its well-done, even if occasionally steps can be a bit opaque.1 found this helpful
Very casual point and click game.
not that great, but also not that awful the thing i REALLY liked was the story being accurate to "arsène lupin, gentleman thief" (but with some changes, of course), i think they did a great job in adapting it into a game! but other than the story i feel like the game is a bit lacking... ≈8 hours is too short for a game that costs 30 dollars. (and even IF it was longer it would be way too repetitive because the game ALREADY IS repetitive!) both gameplay and controls could be better, especially the gameplay because it gets really annoying to walk around all the map for 2 or 3 times looking for a clue, just for the "clue" to be a random unrelated observation on a item you already clicked twice buuuut because you didn't click on another item before clicking on it, arsène "the smartest guy on the room" lupin doesn't say the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing i needed him to say 20mins ago. i recommend it if you are either an arsène lupin fan (like me!), or if you just want to try a game that isn't too time consuming (also like me!), but remember to buy it on sale
The graphics are lovely, as is the story. The gameplay is mostly mind-map-solving and walking around, looking at things. Maybe a bit dull after the third time. However, very fun to play. Worth in a huge sale. 30€ for roughly ~8h of repetitive gameplay is a bit too much.
True to the book.
