✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the mech customization system and the ability to bring customized AI companions into missions, finding some enjoyable challenge on higher difficulties despite clunky controls and a budget feel. However, most agree the game suffers from poor balance, limited customization options in some areas, dated mechanics that feel like a step back even compared to older Armored Core titles, and an inconsistent difficulty spike that makes late-game stages frustrating rather than challenging.

Wasted potential on a high quality DGunners game, they stuck to the low quality game mobile design instead. This game was released on PS VITA in 2012 and yet Armored Core Last Raven released on PS2 in 2005 and ported to PS VITA still has more quality. ++ The Good Stuff * Customization for mech appearance: You can only switch the upper body and leg, and weapons. There is no stats trade-off on weapons so say goodbye to the cool looking weapon you like if you get the stronger one. * Customization for mech color: You can only pick either White, Black, Red, Blue, Green. Very limited, no edit paint or camos sadly. * Renameing your mech. * Bringing your own customized mech as AI companions on missions. (Armored core games have something similar but not this). * Commanding your AI companions, changing how they behave while in mid mission. (Also something cool that armored core games doesn't have). The rest are just slots for stat boost like in the mobile games. !! Story Presentation, Gameplay and Other Complaints * No story cutscenes, only uninteresting unvoiced texts about the world lore and your mission lore with the same bgm looping before and after the mission and cuts…

It's okay. It feels like We have Armored Core at home. Customization is lacking and movement feels clunky and poorly implemented. It just screams budget. I would not get this except on extremely high discount.

Do you want the mecha version of Dynasty Warriors mowing down mechs brainlessly? Play this game on normal Do you want to get some challenge out of this game? play it on hard and there's actually some challenge some stages(and your allies are worthless in hard+ so more agency to you) until you reach stage 20. Honestly I was going to be a lot more positive on this review before playing stage 20 on hard but you can't tell me a single small target of a boss has more hp than my entire missile stock when any other machine behemoth you fight caves in quite easily, and all that while one shotting your allies and dispatching you easily too. This is a positive review since I found some fun with this game but it's a some fun to be had 5/10 game. The game is wildly unbalanced on harder difficulty modes mostly on bosses. the story barely exists and it is mostly rolling text and like 15 maybe unique locations and I might be generous since I didn't really try to count. And this is supposed to be a Vita game! I had a Vita and those games could be much better than this. Also you need to specify which controller you are using at startup and the game won't recognize any control method apart from t…

I feel like people are being to harsh when this game is actually really solid. Assault Gunner is an old PS game that was never sold outside of Japan and was later given a PC port which is what this game is. You have a squadron of mechs that you get to customize with a range of different parts as the game continues. The highlight of this game is definitely the customization. It's part variety is insanely good and you can spend a lot of time making your perfect robot after grinding out the parts. Also customizing your team to match their classes is fun too although I haven't really figured that part out yet... The ai for enemies and your teammates is a little buggy which I would expect for a game like this. If your fresh out of Armored Core 6 and you just NEED that dose of mecha action at a low price that can run well on just about anything then get this game. Don't expect more out of a product then what it's actually worth. 7.6/10 Edit: I did forget to mention that the bosses are my least favourite part about the game. Not because their bad but because of how easy they are. If they amped up the health and aggression it would be way better. Edit: I have now completed the full base…

I played the mobile version (spa), and recently I found this PC version. I recommend the game.
